Monte1076
Ever notice this? Most in the Democratic party and the media refer to the U.S. as a "Democracy". Most Conservatives (such as myself) and Republicans will refer to the U.S. as a Republic. Here are the definitions: Republic: a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them. "Republic" is originally from the latin "Res Publica" (public thing) Source: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/republic?s=t Democracy: government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. Of course, with dictionaries and representatives changing definitions of words (sometimes at the government's whim) these definitions may not be entirely accurate. So which is it? We are, I believe, a Federal Republic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_republic
