This is what's wrong with the politics of Larry's America

Did you even actually read your own article? Let me get this straight: you are against people saving enough to early retire or working at jobs, like police or prison guards or firemen that have people retire early or against people who hunt and fish and raise their own food or against people working only cash jobs or being disabled? All of those? Interesting.

And, by the way I am on year 32 in my career, many more, I would venture that your supposed time in the military or working for an insurance company, and I have held many jobs to make extra cash during that time. My first job was hauling hay when I was 12, and I held a grocery store job for all 4 years of HS. I have voted as a Democrat every step of the way.

Damn, Barry... I used to vote D, but I am a wiser man now. You are what is known as a”Yellow Dog Democrat” in that you would vote for a yellow dog if he were a Democrat;

Voting for a party philosophy rather than a person who has common sense principles is clear proof of years of brainwashing. No doubt you gobbled up everything Lyndon put on your plate.🙄

Not a peep about the OP. And you know you were only a Democrat until there was a Republican actually to vote for in Texas. You went with the Southern Strategy.

A friend of mines grandfather passed away at age 99 a couple years ago. He voted dem his entire life because FDR gave him a job with the WPA during the depression.

Also, he served with the Marine Corp during WWII and fought on Okinawa. In his mid 90s he would still get on his tractor and work around his property. He was made out of better stuff than pretty much anyone these days.

Nice try Larry ... I guesd you missed the parts about the labor participation rate being at an all time low ... people living off never ending government unemployment, deadbeats living with their family and mooching instead of working, scammers and thieves, lawsuit Larrys and people just plain too lazy to work ....

I was just about to say the same thing. Democrats from FDR’s era were totally different from the ones who have no love nor Respect for the country they live in today.

There were plenty of Republicans to vote for in the past. After I went through what Carter did to U.S. I could never vote Democrat again.  Clinton was a decent President, but he messed U.S. up with Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae.  I still voted for Bush Sr. even though he messed up and said "No new taxes", Bush Jr. was better than the alternative.  There was no choice with Romney/McCain vs. Obama I realized my mistake voting for McCain, and went third party with Romney and Trump.  Trump won me back over again, because everything was going wonderfully until the virus.  Biden is dumber than a box of rocks and so are his puppet masters.

FDR was socialist to the core.  Only Truman and JFK would have been the outliers. However he may have went the route of the Great Society and messed up like LBJ did.

This might be true, however like EnjoyLife said, FDR put People to work building roads, buildings, parks etc, instead of paying them to sit at home collecting dust or getting into trouble. That was the point I was making.

Im an FDR democrat at heart...but I do not vote dem for the very reasons you stated. Too be clear...there are many democrats that love this country dearly. Unfortunately there is also a significant percentage that hate this country and believe it is "bad". Even worse, there is  a wing of the democratic party that hates Christians, Christianity and the Church...so even though I view the gop (greed over people) as a vile party of sociopaths...they are still less bad than the alternative.

Many of those job programs that he offered were ruled unconstitutional.  Back then they weren't being paid to be unemployed.  Another thing I saw wrong with what he was doing was burying crops of food.  We had many starving Americans back then, and that food could have been put to good use.  I realize he was trying to save farmers and keep prices higher, but during a depression he should have pulled the country together.  That would have been the easiest and cheapest thing to do.  Instead they passed the 1st food stamp act.  Just feed them.

I am talking about in Texas, ya pontificating pompous ####. Until the 80s, Democrats controlled the state and most county positions weren't even partisan.

Carter's ineptness is why many Texans changed parties.  I was there, and I heard them talking at country stores all over East Texas about it.  For some reason, and I suppose it's because my Grandfather owned one is why my Daddy would visit almost everyone of them in every small town across East Texas.  Your memory isn't very good either.  Democrats still controlled some of the State of Texas even into the 90's.  Mark White and Ann Richards both became Governors.  Lloyd Bentsen was a Senator until 1993. It was my generation that saw through how terrible the Democrat Party was, and why Texas became red.  Finally some of those blue bellies from the Midwest states that moved down here in the 80's also became aware, and began voting red.

I voted dem until Clinton left. But if you look at what dems stand for into todays world it's really sad.

If the elections were true elections I really think you would see the end of the Democratic party.

Clinton was almost as bad, he just wasn't as openly obvious about what he was trying to do. .... plus he was held in check by a republican congress .... the libtards of today don't even try to hide their intentions ...

Wow, 😂😂😂, I got a pontificating pompous ####.   So this is what happens when someone continuously post the truth.  Sorry big guy but I’ll continue to do so until.......1- you finally see I’m right and you become a conservative, or 2- you quit posting, or 3- the guys with the butterfly nets round you up and place you in an institution where you can get help.
