Rangers agree to Minor League deals with Walker, Carlson

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Left-handers Kevin Walker and Jesse Carlson agreed Monday to Minor League contracts with the Texas Rangers.

Walker went to nearby Grand Prairie High School and was selected by San Diego on the sixth round of the 1995 amateur draft. He spent last season in the Chicago White Sox organization, going 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in nine relief appearances over two stints with the White Sox. He has also appeared in the Major Leagues with San Diego and San Francisco, going 7-3 with a 4.76 ERA in 122 games.

Carlson spent last season in Toronto's organization, going 4-3 with a 2.79 ERA and five saves in 61 Minor League appearances. He has also been in Detroit's and Houston's organizations since being drafted by the Tigers in 2002.
