ericndenton
Do you think there is a chance he will be our opening day Left Fielder?
Seminole44
possibly....but then in two weeks he'll be on the DL....
clawsnstripes
if the stros had any sense a few years ago, drew stubbs would be roaming around out there and we wouldn't be looking. i don't see nomar as a stro and i don't think he's agile or fast enough to play outfield. Req
actually ive heard the yankees want him to play firstbase.. might cut down on some injuries huh?
pirate4
I don't think he'll be in Houston.
cubs37
If he goes to Houston, it won't be in the outfield. The Cubs wanted to move him to OF, but he didn't want to, so they said bye.
BigRocky99
Actually, if he does end up in Houston, he will play LF, unless the Astros trade Adam Everett. From what I have seen, he is looking at 4 teams, Yankees as a 1B/Dh and part time SS and 3B, Cleveland - RF, Dodgers 1B/RF, and Astros. I would figure he will end up a Yankee, but you never know. I do know that the Astros are very interested in him, figuring he would enjoy the short RF fence.. but money talks and the Yankees have plenty of $$$
Twentytwo
Especially since they lost 55 million last year. Nomar will be a Dodger, until right after the all star break, when he gets traded to a wanna be contender.
BigRocky99
As an Astro fan, I really had mixed emotions about them signing him anyway. I did because you are always hopeful if you have such a player that we will stay uninjured and hit 30 - 40 HR and knock in 100. Yet, I also wondered where he would play in the event that Bagwell returns and Berkman goes back to LF. Maybe some SS, but it seems his range is limited, so am not sure where he would have fit. Of course, if Bagwell does not come back, I would like to see the Astros sign a proven OF with some offense.
