Voted4Dubya
I saw there was an East Texas one, and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the West Texas one's as well. A lot of people will say Buddy Holly, but I disagree. And I don't mean to take anything away from him because he was a genius and one of the forefathers of Rock. I would have to say Roy Orbison though. He was a genius as well. I listen to his cd's and there's a lot of pain in there. I can connect with him a lot to I believe. He was from humble beginnings. He was just awesome though. He's also got a lot of connections with Kermit, Texas, where my dad spent a lot of time growing up. His dad roughnecked with Roy way back when. Camusmind
There was this great emo band from San Angelo, Air Raid Summer, that would play Tyler periodically during the late 90's. I thought they were a great band, but I don't think they ever got signed to a major label.
