Observer
The facts speak loudly.... Inflation on Gas prices has been pretty much flat... While the cost of doing business in that industry have gone up exponentially....
BearBryant
And now Democrats want to add a windfall tax on an industry that has an 8.3% profit margin. Don't these people know that the costs will just filter down to us, making prices higher? Open up domestic drilling, ease some of the extreme environmental regulations, build new refineries and maybe we will see lower prices.
Colligula
So you guys actually like paying for these high gas prices? Wow conservatives really are slaves to the state. But it honestly doesnt matter, until we stop paying for it, they will keep raising it.

NO, if you would read some of the above posts you would see that. But in typical liberal fashion you just start blabbing.

I tried to say that we are getting gouged and that high prices are bad, and everyone jumped in saying no that was wrong. So therefore you guys must like paying high gas prices. Your either for lower prices or against them. Blabbing? Your one of the biggest blabbers on here. You've got no room to talk.

We all are for low oil prices. most of us though, don't see a conspiracy behind every corner like you do. Also, oil companies do not set the prices per barrel of oil. Observer
Questions for Colligula and Voted.... and any other anti gas / commerce posters.. Is 8.3% really too high a profit margin? What would the price of a gallon of gas be if it had kept up with inflation? If you are for taking money fromt he oil companies when they are making money are you willing to send them money when the bottom falls out? KirtFalcon
Federal and State politicians are the ones doing the gouging with oil prices . . . with excessive taxes! :w00t: Instead of congress complaining about "Big Oil's" profit, they should be explaining to America what they did with the huge tax revenue windfall we collected because of the oil companies profit! Politicians rake in 4 - 5 times as much tax revenue as "Big Oil" earns in profit . . . at least the oil companies earned their profit! :w00t:  :w00t:

BearBryant
I believe that it goes to the highway fund. In some states it is 60cents.
ruger.25-06
60 cents per gallon averages out to be about 20.5% profit for the gov't, and they don't do any of the work. Who's gouging???
