setxsports
Texas DT Lokey out for season Texas has depth, but this still hurts any team. Looks like Roy Miller & others will have to pick up the slack... Horns Defensive Tackle Out With Fractured Leg Lokey fractured the fibula in his lower leg in the second quarter Saturday Oct. 23, 2006 AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Starting defensive tackle Derek Lokey broke his leg in No. 5 Texas' win over Nebraska and will be out indefinitely. Lokey fractured the fibula in his lower leg in the second quarter Saturday, trainer Kenny Boyd said Monday. Surgery is scheduled for later this week. Lokey had 24 tackles on the season and also played fullback in short-yardage situations for the Longhorns (7-1, 4-0 Big 12). "This is an unfortunate setback for Derek and our defense," coach Mack Brown said. "It will be important that someone steps up and fill his void for us to continue to be one of the best defenses in the country."

LJLPOP10
Yall have plenty of guys to plug that DT spot, but who in yall's opinion will fill in at FB in short yardage? I'd be tempted to stick Brian Robison back there. That guy seems crazy.
bordertown
It must have been a crack as he walked to the locker room on his own.

It might just be a crack because they haven't technically said he's done for the season.
bordertown
Or it may be why he is having surgery!!!!!!
TJC_fan
Losing starting "D" tackles will still hurt the Horns' "D" effort. But yeah, they've got some good ones ready to step in.
Aggie2008
So who will be the starters? Okam and who else?
GabeHorns
Thats a shame because Lokey was have an great season, honestly playing better than preseason all american Frank Okam! This just means Roy Miller and the rotation in of Aaron Lewis, who has been playing great lately, will have to step up. Look to see Lewis play a lot of DT and DE against Tech to force a pass rush. Hopefully we'll see Chris Brown get some action, who is a speedy DE from Texarkana. He broke his ankle or leg against Baylor last year and I don't think I've seen him on the field yet this year
bordertown
Chris Brown is being redshirted this year.
lobo4life
Okam and Roy Miller are the starters now. Thomas Marshall and Ben Alexander are going to have to step it up. Also look for Aaron Lewis to get more playing time rotating between end and tackle. He's been a very good player this season. Walk on Luke Tiemann (6-2, 219) is going to become the starting fullback. He was a 2 star LB recruit a couple of years ago and a ranked 99th in the Texas 100.
