Smoaky
Kincaide has been on the Cowboys practice squad for the past 2-3 years---and he was at their training camp in California...cut, resigned to the practice squad...released again...but he's bounced on and off their practice squad. With Tyson Thompson ankle injury---Kincaide was in fact signed to the Cowboys 53-man roster. I'm very excited for him... Smoaky

coachb
IRVING, Texas - With so many bright spots coming out of Sunday's comeback win over the Panthers, it wasn't all good news for the Cowboys. The team has lost running back Tyson Thompson for the rest of the season to a fractured fibula. The Cowboys placed the second-year veteran on injured reserve Tuesday and replaced his roster spot with running back Keylon Kincade, who has spent the last three training camps with the club and has been on the practice squad for two seasons, including a brief stint this year. Thompson, who will need surgery, suffered the injury after returning the Panthers' kickoff 37 yards in the first quarter. He was hit out of bounds by two players, resulting in a 15-yard penalty on Carolina. Thompson, who set franchise return records last season in both attempts (57) and yards (1,399), is currently tied for fourth in the NFL with a 26.0 yard average. But signing Kincade (5-11, 208) doesn't exactly fill the void Thompson leaves, especially in the return game. Kincade will likely give the Cowboys depth at running back again, but he doesn't have much experience as a return specialist. Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said on Monday the team is exploring all options, but rookie Skyler Green could be a candidate to replace Thompson. Green, a fourth-round pick out of LSU, was drafted primarily as a return specialist. He had just three kickoff returns for 61 yards in the preseason, along with 12 punt returns for 103 yards. Green spent the first five weeks of the season on the practice squad before getting moved up to the active roster before the Houston game two weeks ago. Green, who has been moved from receiver to running back, returned three punts for five yards in that game and has been inactive the last two weeks. Kincade at least knows the offensive system, having spent the last three years here in Dallas. Kincade had 12 rushes during the preseason for 36 yards, along with two tackles on special teams. The Cowboys, who also worked out former running back Aveion Cason earlier this week, have been using a heavy dose of Julius Jones and Marion Barber this season. The tandem rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns against the Panthers.
Aggie2008
I didn't notice Thompson appear to be hurt during the game so it must have happened very late.

Tatum_DirtyBird
Yeah, Jamaica Rector is going to be something special. Congrats to Kincaid. Can anyone tell me how fast he is? Fast enough to return punts or anything?
bulldogbacker
I am sure that everyone in the surrounding Troup Metroplex will be his kinfolk now. I have a freshmen at my school an hour from Troup and anytime something happens there, they are his cousins. So, let the whole town of Troup celebrate their local hero playing in the big leagues!!! Congrats and go Boys!!! After the late hit, you could see some of the other Cowboys looking at Thompson when he was down and you could see his lower leg was not straight as it should have been. Pretty gruesome and those guys should be fined considerably for the cheap shot.
gwsoftball
Short-lived. Kincade was cut to make room for Lousaka Polite, due to Oliver Hoyte's arm injury. That's a tough hit...he absolutely blew up several linebackers in last Monday's game.
ThaDeisel
i wish him well, i just hope he doest mess up big b/c the cowboys cant afford that right now.
RedBaron
I believe Kindcaid and Carthage's Kris Briggs shared time at SMU.
