McCoy again named Cingular All-America Player of the Week.. again! He was also awarded the Game Ball by Master Coaches Survey, and named WCFF National Player of the Week for his 21-of-31 passes for 256 yards and four touchdowns as Texas overcame an early 21-0 deficit to defeat Texas Tech, 35-31. The 21-point comeback win was the second-largest in UT history, behind a 28-point comeback against Oklahoma State in 2004. McCoy threw touchdowns of 16, 28, 45 and 28 yards and completed passes to eight different receivers. His 28-yard TD strike to Quan Cosby with 13:24 left in the game put UT ahead for the first time and wound up being the game-winning score.
