BigBlueBacker
Alot closer than people thought it would be. UG had a good season, that loss to Big Sandy really cost them a trip to the playoffs
kwkh1
New Boston and Jefferson next Saturday. 3 weeks ago I thought Dawgs would win it. Not so sure now.
Blitz
If Jefferson is a top 10 team in AA, then we need to seriously think about doing away with high school polls. If they are number 7 in state, then UG should also be a top-10 team. If Jefferson has an offense, I didn't see it tonight. Jefferson is one of the most over-rated teams. No disrespect to UG, because they played hard and could have won, if they didn't run the same 5 plays all the time. UG crashed their defensive ends every play and had the free safety at the line of scrimmage and not once did J'son attempt a slant pass. They got wrapped up in the backfield. The only score was on a go route (late in the 3rd) and the last score was the result of a muffed punt at the ten yardline. They would not have scored if UG was not called for 15 yard facemask at the 2 on a 3rd and G from the 11.
Rabfan
ok, channel 3 was reporting that union grove had won 40 -
pyrosmutti
The polls do ####, and they are inconsistent. However, Jefferson simply got moved from 3A to 2A. They did not ask for the ratings. They simply played their best all season. Â In the end, though, tonight they beat Union Grove. A win is a win, and a loss is a loss. Â Best of luck to the Bulldogs in the playoffs. highschoolfootballnut
Blitz.............who cares what we are rated, we are 9-1, have scored 407 points and our "D" has allowed only 70 points in 10 games, we have the largest Margin of victory in 2A, Union Grove played a good game and were fighting for a playoff spot. We had 2 offensive linemen out, the playoffs are more important than that game, but UG played well. We will be ready for New Boston. Another bleacher coach with all the answers. FlowJack
Better take those rose-colored glasses off, 'nut! If the the Bulldogs show up next Sat. to play just one half of football like the last three weeks, N. Boston will own 'um. Hopefully the o and d line will be healthy and at 100%. Light a fire under 'um, Coach Hale!
KirtFalcon
I have said all year that Jefferson was over rated. They really haven't played any of the better East Texas 2A teams yet.

Not a bleacher coach, just pointing out the facts from last night's game. Your right your defense played great, but the offense was terrible. How many points did J'son score in district out of the 407? All I know is that NB will pound J'son next week.

CoachBird2
All I can say is I am proud of how hard the Lions played. If Jefferson wanted to, they could be a lot better than they are.
highschoolfootballnut
Jefferson scored 307 and allowed 49 in district......the most in 18-2A...we all played each other avg 30.7 and allowed 4.9 per game....mute point............season 2 begins and we will be ready........your team must be out if you were watching us....our 'D' is sometimes our best offensive weapon, it is averaging about as much per game as our opponents. Good luck to all playoff teams.
Tatum_DirtyBird
My only concern is that Jefferson hasn't really played anyone yet. They could be in for a surprise when they play Saturday. Â Good luck Dawgs
Guest TtownEagle803
As bad as I want to see a Jefferson/Tatum matchup, I think New Boston will beat Jefferson. Unless Jefferson was just messin with people's minds in the Harmony, UG, and Harleton games.....they're in trouble. New Boston is about to give them all they want and more. Good luck dawgs.....hopefully we'll see you in round 2.
