CAPTTIGER
In baseball the Yankees have been called the evil empire. In the NFL it has pretty much always been the Raiders...so, which Texas High School football team would you consider "The Evil Empire"? SLC, H.Park, Lufkin, Celina or whoever.......... jd63238
Years ago it would have definately been Odessa Permian......... Today, I think Celina would get a lot of votes up in their neck of the woods. In East Texas, I think Gilmer is close to that status. Oh by the way, it wouldn't surprise me to see this thread deleted. One started yesterday with a similar theme bit the dust overnight.
CAPTTIGER
yea....i didn't do it with any malice, just wanted to know who people love to root against
SteelMill
Since so many people like to bash the efforts of the Tigers, I'll have to go with Daingerfield. Between Celina, Midland Greenwood, Gilmer, Pittsburg, Pewitt, Hughes Springs, Mt. Pleasant, and countless others, Daingerfield is the most hated program in the state of Texas because of their successes in the past.
Bullhead
Definitely D'field!
Nutfrom92
Oh, yeah. I remember the big days of Daingerfield. They were a huge archenemy of ours!! They dominated any district they played in!

DLeihman32878
Personally, I hate to see SLC win. It has as much to do with my hatred of suburbia as anything else.
Guest bleedsbluengold24
For any true blue (and gold) NL Panther, it has to be Paris High.
Bobcat1976
Plano used to be thought of in those terms by many. Huge enrollment lots of wins for lots of years.
nothinbutnet07
Cuero has to be on the list somewhere... they are always making deep runs in the play offs and constantly in the top 10 polls
orange80
Dangerfield back in the 80's, but not now. Teams I love to watch are Southlake, Celina and Highland Park b/c they seem to outcoach and outwork other schools.

SL1KK
For small schools in East Texas, D'field is the evil empire, regardless of this year's record or past accomplishments, everyone loves to hate the Tigers... Scan through threads on this forum and you'll see !!!
Justafannow
success breeds contempt...why are people so envious of those who do well?
GoBigBlue
Because people just don't like to lose. It is hard to explain to people that when I played with Daingerfield my Teams lost only 4 games in 4 years.
Cougar4Life
Ada (OK) was the evil empire in oklahoma. 19 state titles(football, 96 total state titles!) Nobody has done that yet here. Everyone hated them! Who here, has the most state titles? (Football, and everything else too). Anyone with more than 10 state titles? How about 7? How about overall? Anyone with more than 40 state titles in all sports? I know Brenham is in the Governor's cup about every year... Anyone out there know who's REALLY been successful? SL1KK
I know it should be easier to dominate in Oklahoma, but that is still impressive what Ada has accomplished...
whatsittoyou?
well, I know Alto has gone pretty deep in football playoffs for years, with the exception of last year and 2003. Also, they are well-known in track, usually getting at least one gold medal at state every year. Also, their softball team has a state championship from a few years back and has gone to the 3rd round at least almost every year following. Their girls basketball also usually shows up to the playoffs too, but I won't be expecting them this year. All-in-all, I think they should deserve at least mention in this topic. goldandwhite
Celina...always coming in a couple of players under the cut-off for the next higher classification, and then suiting up 70 players for their playoff games. I will give them credit for playing well at the 3a level, though.
