myronyellow
Try and put together some realistic Class 4A District alignments and see how they work out. Please take into consideration distance between towns/cities when doing so. This should be interesting.
RazorbackFAN
my thoughts for this would be a 4a district of the following teams TEXAS HIGH MARSHALL KILGORE NAC HALLSVILLE think this is the old district before this new alignments . This was the BEST DISTRICT in the state of Texas . All the games during district was always like a Playoff game . Especially the T-HIGH vs KILGORE game . These games were an always are a WAR !! just my 2 cents what does everyone else think ?
myronyellow
I'll take the first crack at it. District #'s are hypothetical: **Hypothetical District Champ * Hypothetical Playoff Teams DISTRICT 11 Paris* North Lamar* Greenville Rockwall-Heath Sherman** Denison DISTRICT 12 Mt. Pleasant Texas High** Marshall* Hallsville* Kilgore Pine Tree DISTRICT 13 Henderson Jacksonville* Lindale Nacogdoches* Sulphur Springs Whitehouse**
ndndoc
Not bad yellow but the travel for SS to Nac would be horrible. I would see it more like this Paris, NL, SS, MP, PT Jville, Henderson, W'house, Nac, Lindale TEXAS HIGH, MARSHALL ,KILGORE, NAC, HALLSVILLE
ndndoc
I know that does not work, got nac in two places Paris, NL, SS, MP, Greenville Jville, Henderson, W'house, Nac, Lindale TEXAS HIGH, MARSHALL ,KILGORE, PT, HALLSVILLE
myronyellow
They'd (SS & Nac) only have to make that drive once though! 3 Districts, 6 Teams a piece, 5 district games... just like old school! Bi-District & Area Playoff games would be very interesting too.

myronyellow
They'd only have to make the trip once a piece in all other sports! And that's spaced out over months at a time! It's not gonna hurt anyone... I've been an athlete that's had to travel and I've been on buses before. It's not fun, but hey...
myronyellow
Distance between SS & Nac is 139 miles.
ndndoc
The cost is the not fun part for us. And it is spaced more like this. AUG- NOV- Football (plus band, drill and dance)one way varsity/8th multiple busses, other way JV/frosh/7th multiple busses, volleyball one week there one week the other, cross country, tennis NOV-FEB- Basketball boys and girls 9/jv/varsity multiple busses, Soccer boys and girls jv/varsity multiple busses FEB-May- Baseball, Softball, tennis and track Not as simple as you make it sound
myronyellow
Maybe we could squeeze Terrell in there somehow to make it make sense.
myronyellow
NAC should go back to 5A!!!!
Mav83
Seems ya'll are making it easy on the HOUSE...at least the next two years. In a way... Good for us, District Champs...but in another, makes us complacent. Would sure like to see Marshall, Kilgore and Hallsville with Whitehouse...makes sense distant wise. Just my thoughts..... findog28
Any chance of Palestine,Athens,Mabank or Wills Point going back to 4A that would help some of the East Texas schools with travel.

They could be a little more competitive there instead of "throwing them to the wolves"
RJ31
There is a distinct possibility that North Lamar drops to 3A at the next realignment.
dfwfootballfan
Royse City will go 4a next realignment. Greenville Forney RC Terrell Rockwall-Heath Mesquite 4a's
Lhornfan
Why so much discussion on something that won't happen until 2007-2008? Re-alignment was done last year, and it's good for two years.
THSfanatic
I have no idea about realignment, but I doubt you'll ever see Texas High/Mt Pleasant separated.
WildcatPride
Originally posted by THSfanaticI have no idea about realignment, but I doubt you'll ever see Texas High/Mt Pleasant separated. Never say never. Had one a couple realignments that put Tyler Chapel Hill in a district west and south of Whitehouse and House went east. Why are we are on this subject now? Nac!!!
Originally posted by myronyellowNAC should go back to 5A!!!!
