Kurt Lindsey(White Oak), in that mass of humanity, ran into a pole early in the race and fell. He finished 166th in 16:48. Graham Northcut(Sulfur Springs) finished 42nd in 15:51 In the girls seeded race, Catherine Loden (White Oak) finished 11th in 17:33 just one spot from qualifying for nationals (top ten advance to nationals in San Diego) Texas girls won the team gold with 44 points: 4th - Jilian Rosen (Metroplex Striders) 17:15 7th - Samantha Means (Metroplex Striders) 17:21 10th - Kinsey Farren (Metroplex Striders) 17:28 11th - Catherine Loden (Metroplex Striders) 17:33 12th - Tara Upshaw (South Lake Carroll) 17:46 For complete results: http://footlockercc.com/2006/results.shtml Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

HankTheCowDog Posted November 30, 2006 Share Posted November 30, 2006 I just watched the videos of the Footlocker races and saw a couple of what looked like four foot tall four inch diameter poles right near the start where all the runners are bunched together. I can see how someone could run into one; ouch. They look downright dangerous. Sounds like Kurt did a great job to turn in a sub 17 minute run after that. Congrats to Catherine on her performance.
