Lufkin ended Atlanta's meet winning streak outscoring the Rabbs 190-128. Texas High was third with 100

Lufkin also won girls division, with L-E second.

Six records fell, four of them were more than 20 years old.

The highlights were as follow as far as I was concerned:

In boys

Atlanta's Jamie Hodge won shot 54-2 1/2 and was second in discus 155-1.

Josh Grigson of Texas High won high jump 6-8. Atlanta's Bobby Washington also jumped 6-8 and was second

Pleasant Grove's Will Barry won 800 in 1:57.71

Arkansas High won 800 relay in 1:27.71

Arkansas High's Fred Rose won 200 in 21.43

Atlanta got its 1600 relay time down to 3:22 and still finished third behind Longview and Lufkin.

In girls:

L-E won 400 relay in 48.34

Atlanta's Laura Garrison won 800 in 2:21.21

Lufkin girl won 100 hurdles in 14.18

Texas High freshman Wills won 100 in 12.06

L-E won 800 relay in 1:42.65

Lufkin girl (same) won 300 hurdles in 44.65

It was a great meet and Pat Brady did a great job on PA in place of legend Paul Huddleston, who is recuperating at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana after taking a nasty fall. Please pray for him.
