Ryan Sanders Baseball Partners With FSN Southwest

Games set for broadcast to nine million homes

ROUND ROCK – Ryan Sanders Baseball, the ownership group of the Triple-A Round Rock Express and the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks, and FSN Southwest announced Wednesday that the two have partnered to make FSN Southwest the home for Ryan Sanders Baseball televised games for 2007.

The initial schedule features three Round Rock Express games, three Corpus Christi Hooks games and the 71st Texas League All-Star Game presented by Whataburger, which has featured such stars as Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean, Cy Young winner Eric Gagne, Astros All-Star Lance Berkman and former Hooks and Express standout Jason Hirsh.

“This marks an exciting partnership for all of us,” said Ryan Sanders Baseball President and CEO Reid Ryan. “Our fans and fans of minor league baseball have expressed a desire to watch these teams and see the top talent that will be entering the Major Leagues soon. The Houston Astros are the most popular team across the Southwest and people care about what’s happening in their system. This is a great opportunity for everyone.”

Added Texas League president Tom Kayser: “It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by FSN Southwest. Now fans all across the south will have a great chance to see the stars of tomorrow today.”

Veteran broadcaster and former Houston Astros manager Larry Dierker will partner with Round Rock broadcaster Mike Capps and Corpus Christi broadcaster Matt Hicks to provide commentary for the games.

All games will be carried by FSN Southwest, reaching more than nine million cable and satellite TV homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico. FSN Southwest currently airs the Houston Astros, Major League affiliate of the Express and the Hooks.

Dates for the Ryan Sanders Game of the Week presented by Citgo for Round Rock’s live airings include May 28, June 11 and July 8. Corpus Christi games will air on June 21, June 24 and July 15, and the 71st Texas League All-Star Game will be taped on June 26 and replayed on June 27. All seven games will be produced by Ryan Sanders Baseball and Austin-based Earl Miller Production and will feature an array of exciting interactive elements as they reach the southern viewing area, which includes 11 Triple- and Double-A markets.

“We’re excited to join forces with Ryan Sanders Baseball,” said FSN Southwest Senior Vice President/General Manager Jon Heidtke. “We look forward to working with their organization to promote minor league baseball throughout the Southwest region, particularly to showcase the Houston Astros’ top farm teams. Our partnership will make it possible for baseball fans to watch future big league stars.”

Added Nolan Ryan, co-owner of Ryan Sanders Baseball: “This is one of the best ways to open the Astros organization to everyone. From Larry Dierker on down, we’ve brought together some of the best in the game to make this a success.”
