The committee met on Tuesday, June 5th, and here are the results. I nominated twelve people with connections to East Texas, and will continue to represent the area over the next several years. David Smoak Deadline for Texas Sports Hall of Fame nominations June 1st Selection Committee Meeting - Set Ballots June 5, 2007 Mail Ballots to TSHOF Inductees & OVM Members June 26, 2007 Deadline for ballot return August 1, 2007 Selection Committee Receives Ballots & Results of TSHOF Inductee & OVM Voting August 15,2007 Deadline for ballot return September 1, 2007 TSHOF Announces Class of 2007 September 15, 2007 Ballot set for TSHOF “Class of 2007” Voting (Waco) – The Texas Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee, comprised of media members around the state and chaired by Dave Campbell of Texas Football Magazine fame, has set the final ballot of nominees (see attached) to be voted on for induction in February of 2008 in Waco. Six nominees from the primary ballot and two from the veterans’ ballot will comprise the Class of 2007. Official Voting Members of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame (open to the public) will once again be able to help the selection committee determine the newest class. Those who have joined the museum’s Official Voting Member Program (OVM) will receive their ballots by the end of this month. The OVM sign-up deadline to be able to vote for the upcoming class is July 15, 2006. The public can join and receive an official ballot by going to the museum’s website, www.tshof.org. The official announcement of the Class of 2007 will be made in September.
