It was a tough game just like I said it would be. It looked like Mineola wanted it more to start the game. PG warmed up flat, and played flat the whole first half. They looked like they read too many press clippings and posts on here saying how they were going to win big. Mineola played real hard and never quit, they wanted t o win but in the second half the Hawks decided they wanted to win even more. Hawks came out second half with the intensity they had been missing. The Hawks kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties in the second half costing them two touchdowns and another long run called back.. If the Hawks are to keep wining in the playoffs they can’t afford to let a half go by before they start playing.

The running back from Mineola was really good. Mineola had a young team and should be tough to deal with next year.

Congratulations Hawks on winning the Bi-District Championship. Congratulations to Mineola for a hard fought game. The coach there has done a great job turning that team around. If they get a passing game next year they will be a big threat. Great running and speed on their part and they played with lots of intensity and heart.

The Hawks scared me the first half. Defense was expecting a cakewalk it seems and got a good slap in the face for slacking. They came out with their focus and intensity we saw in the LE game during the third quarter. Offense made some good plays and had a few TDs called back.

If D had played the way they did in the third quarter, the whole game, then PG would have had an crushing victory, but the the big head bug got in the way. Lets hope its gone after this wake up call.

Great job to the PG fans too for supporting the team and keeping up the intensity and noise level. Great job parents and fans.

We have a good band and the always great Show Stoppers. Now if the band would actually participate in supporting the team, like playing when the team comes back on the field at half time like other teams rather than running to the snak bar to get their third quarter break. Come on this is a football game not a band competition. Support your local players and get your snaks when you get home, this ain't no Jr. High band trip. Make some noise during the game fire up the team don't just play your routine song list. Be a factor. Watch a college game and see how bands can be effective supporters for a team during a game.

Great to win but lets clean it up, a long way to go yet Hawks.

Keep it alive another week, and another and another......

Mineola's running back was as good as advertised. As a fan, I would like to say, we just did not wrap up on tackles, but in reality, #6 is the real deal, and one of the best backs PG has faced this year. It was ugly, but, it is a W. Hopefully, the Hawks will rebound and come out more determined next week.

One word: Intensity. Pleasant Grove did not display their usual intensity at all until the 3rd quarter. Not sure what was said at halftime, but it apparently worked. Hopefully the Hawks learned an important lesson, that no team can be taken lightly.

What was up with the concession stand? Did anybody actually make it through that long line?

Congrats Hawks! Work hard and prepare for the next battle! :happy65:

On a side note...take it easy on the band...when was the last time the football team supported the band by showing up to their contest...even just one of them? The band is there every week...cut them a little slack.
