shoelessjoelives
Today's Dallas Morning News has a story by Evan Grant titled "Rangers' big catch: Only one can start". He talks about the talent the Rangers have at the catcher position. With Gerald Laird and Jarrod Saltalamacchia vying for the spot the Rangers are in a "win-win position". Reminds me of the 1970 St. Louis Cardinals. They were not really a good team but had talent and Hall of Famers. Ted Simmons and Joe Torre covered the duty. Torre caught in 90 games while Simmons got in on 79 games behind the plate. They certainly were a qualified tandem. Both were All-Stars during their careers. Think about having these names on the same team although some where further along in their careers than others. How about this group: Red Schoendienst, Torre, Lou Brock, Simmons, Dick Allen, Bob Gibson and Steve Carlton in the same locker room. Hopefully the Rangers will be able to put together a similar group and bring another flag to the Arlington flag pole.

shoelessjoelives
Go to the "40-man roster" on the Rangers website and pick out your favorites. The list has 21 possible hurlers on it. This will be interesting this year with Washington having a year under his belt in Arlington and with the players becoming adjusted to him. Can't wait.
