Strangers things have happened. Daingerfield still has some tough games yet to play. Winnsboro may have one possibly two.
Guest bigeagle2010
Lindale didn't play very good at all agianst Pine Tree. They come out and had way too many mistakes, but they still took care of Pine Tree somewhat convincingly. They could suprise some people this year. Winnsboro will be fine...and they've had two nice wins to start the season----but let's let things run their course. Smoaky

Unlike most polls, I don't have the "ladder" effect. In some polls if the team ahead of you loses---you automatic seem to move up a notch. I look at the opponent(s), strength of schedule. Yes, White Oak lost to 3A Spring Hill, the same Spring Hill who lost this past weekend to Brownsboro in a shootout 48-40. But with all due respect to Rains---White Oak should've won that game. We're only 3-weeks into the season, let's let things play out. Smoaky

And just being honest, comparing most any win for anyone else in 2-A to beating Celina, anywhere, is a reach, especially winning in Celina, where they held a 10-year home winning streak. As someone once said, "that's why they play the game(s)." Smoaky

Tiger1995, Arp has two very impressive wins, Paul Pewitt and their blowout at San Augustine...but even had they beaten Alto, it would've been difficult for me not to jump Daingerfield to the top after winning against Celina. BigRedFan
I agree. It would take a miracle. Look for Winnsboro within the next two weeks just to be a memory in the rankings any way. Winnsboro can not compete with the big dogs.

Winnsboro can not compete with the big dogs. Carole, I can always tell when a meltdown is going to happen. I see your name in a thread that could involve Winnsboro. Not one time in this thread did anyone say Winnsboro couldn't compete with the big boys. There were opinions about Winnsboro and the rankings, but everyone has a right to their opinion, no different than you do. Daingerfield just beat Celina, at Celina, breaking their 10-year home win streak, and their long regular season win streak. And you ask me if a win against Caddo Mills would vault Winnsboro to number one. The game against Caddo Mills is October 24th, that's six-weeks from now. Meanwhile, unless I'm wrong, Daingerfield has Gilmer in 2-weeks...another great test. And I'll tell you upfront, if Daingerfield doesn't win that game---they may not drop one spot. Just a heads-up so you can prepare yourself mentally. I love your passion for Winnsboro, and they're very good again this season...so good luck throughout the rest of the season. SL1KK
Thanks for the love Smoak.. I just hope this isn't the plateau of the Tiger season, surely not, Bowman has us playing with a fire and I think this is only the beginning.. Indeed we have a stiff test coming up with the Buckeyes next week, but I'm sure the Tigers are focused on only one thing this week COMMERCE.. But it is a trap game, the week between GILMER and CELINA, now thats tough !!
GoBigBlue
Smoaky I like the rankings in 2A. I will say that it won't shock me to see Pewitt up there amongst the elite real soon.

Not up to speed on Berkner but I know they have been pretty bad the last few years. Cant argue with Woodlands being #1 after they took it to Katy a few weeks back..can't wait till they play Lufkin. Smoaky
Why T-high over Sulphur Springs???? SS beat them last year AND is 3-0 against tougher opponents. Last year doesn't matter. This is this year, and if SS wins this year, they'll be duly noted. Meanwhile, I'll be interested in watching W.F. Rider @ JT---gives me a little comparison to teams that have played Texas High and Sulphur Springs. Smoaky

Have no problem with SS being #3, TH hasn't done anything to drop in the ratings and they and LV still deserve the spots that they are in. We will have played TH and LV within the next 3 weeks and then there will not be a question as to who belongs where. I think the top 10 hits the nail on the head at this point. Smoaky
Not seeing New Boston that high in 3A? You're probably making a good point. But the 3-A poll has been a little screwed-up because of some games canceled, and a few surprises early... As I've told most everyone else, we're only 3-games into this season, so let's let time and upcoming games play out. Smoaky
Guest JAKEBRAKE
Don't get the big head Dfield. That was just one game, the victory we care about is in week 16. #1 in East Texas in week 3 don't mean jack. #1 in week 16 in this great state of ours, that's the cheese i want on my cracker.
