Now that His 8 Years are almost up

I was proud when we went to Afghanistan to fight Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban, but when we went to Iraq for no reason, I lost the respect for my President. I also did spend the money that came to my house, because the government sent us that money to stimulate the economy. Too bad it didn't work huh? I think we should raise taxes and cut government spending. That is the fastest way to erase our deficit. That will not happen though, because we are in a useless war in Iraq that costs 10 billion a month!

Back to the terrorist subject: I think it is great that we are fighting the good fight in Afghanistan. I believe that over time we will win the war. Thank God we will be out of Iraq by 2011. I think that is the best I have heard in years.

The one thing i did not like about the outgoing administration is that they always kept the peace by fear. The government would release a new color for what terrorism level we were in, and everyone would freak. I got so sick of it. Fear tactics may work for awhile, but they don't work forever.

I wonder if anyone will call me an America-hater again? You just do that because you have nothing to say.

You really should stop posting. You're one of the most ignorant posters on SDC. And that is saying a lot.

Why don't you do a little reading and learn real facts, instead of just heresay? Your comments and blame couldn't be anymore wrong or misplaced. You come off as a completely buffoon as the result.

The recession has only begun to be acknowledged during the last two years.

The pull out date that you mention has been established through the SOFA accord, which is aresult of the Iraqis coming together to get us out. They have come to agree that we have used their real estate to stage a war(undeclared mind you) against terrorists (insurgents) that have come there to fight us. The only chance that they have for any type of normalcy, probably not what we would call normal, is to get us out. Bush has never tried to establish a date.

You're retarded, aren't you?

Did I already ask you that?

You do yourself a disservice when you believe this drivel you're being given, if for no other reason than how stupid it makes you appear on here.

It appears that you missed a great opportunity to answer the gurus question here. His question was," If the war was about oil, why did the price go so high when were just winning?"

What then do you attribute the price to? OPEC did not institute price increases and they still have not signifigantly reduced production.

Remember your guru asked the question.

And I believe the question was asked to you. And as usual, you have not been able to answer it, because his question would require a reasonably informed person answer it. You disqualified yourself some time ago.

As I said before, you and those like you are what is wrong with America.

Shall we bandy this about?

-

As I recall, according to the Dems and MSM we've been in a recession ever since the SC halted the Florida recount.

-

Generally, plt, you only acknowledge recession when they actually occur. Although, liberal economists (Paul Krugman?) have correctly called three of the last forty predicted recessions.

-

Not to beat a dead horse, again, but has anyone else noticed the rise in unemployment coincident with the increase in minimum wage?

-

Or in today's news, I see a number of profitable companies are cutting back payroll. Anything to do with threatened tax increases by the campaigning Obama?

-

:hmm: ...last two years? I wonder what changed in Washington in the last two years?

Well I would like the president, and the rest of the government for that matter, to do something for me.

You have irrevocably defined yourself with that single comment.

Better idea! DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF! It builds self-esteem.

It is after all a government "for the people, by the people."

Newsflash! The USA is NOT supposed to be a multi-level marketing scheme!

I also think it hilarious how people say our country is turning to socialism. Why? because Obama wants to provide healthcare to everyone? You know what? If you have healthcare, you have nothing to worry about. It is for people who do NOT have healthcare already. Does anyone consider Great Britain, our strongest ally, socialist? Well they have universal healthcare.

The olny thing worse than an America-hater is an America-hating idiot.

EVERYONE in this country already has healthcare. Every man, woman, and child... regardless of citizenship. Even you, yet you still have things to worry about... like Darfur.

Handout-lover.

TT, as you have so abruptly come to realize, I have not hesitated to point out your shortcomings. I have pointed out that not only do you present yourself as a racist/instigator/race baitor, but that you know nothing about the economy, the President, or the PE. I have acknowledged the vast disparity between your knowledge of the futures market and that of 1stSuperScot's, despite your pontification of same.

I have in effect brought to the attention of all who would enter these threads how painfully outwitted you are by anyone you would challenge on any subject. It has now become abundantly apparent to me, you didn't need my help with that.

Went to Iraq for no reason? Iraq continuously violated the cease-fire agreement they signed on April 6, 1991. That's more than enough reason for me. However, the fact that congress, or as you say "government of the people, for the people", authorized it is easily the best reason.

America-hater.

See, ignorance is not necessarily a bad thing. It just means you don't know all the facts. It doesn't mean you're stupid. Commenting as if you DO know all the facts is what reveals stupidity.

You have also brought glaring attention to the fact that you have not added any thing of substance to this conversation, except high handed insults to people that have an opinion that dares to be different from what you think.

You felt compelled to bash my response, surely you felt compelled to clear up the issue lest I leave anyone confused!

Actually, like I posted, I felt "compelled" to let the managed futures guru/mystic clear it up for you, which he did quite nicely.

Stay in school.

Hey teacup, you don't have to ask me, but it is glaringly apparent you need to ask someone. I've offered plenty. You, on the other hand, have offered nothing but what some could describe as lunatic rantings, mostly embarrassingly incorrect, all devoid of substance.

Keep it up. You're making my point with ever post.

I get it you have no answer and no response other than to slam or criticize. Yea adverserial, that's what I like.

Once again, a dodge.

You're pathetic. Is it completely outside the scope of possibility that you would answer ONE question asked of you?

Sorry to keep you boys waiting. I had a little family time this evening.

Poor little tigger (plt), is it scary to go through life worried about the "other" guy? There was nothing nefarious about the price action of energy this spring/summer, unless you want to point a finger at Pelosi/Reid and their minions or the insane stream media (hype).

See, plt, there were no insiders. There were people with a real set who are knowledgeable about how the markets work. People who put their money where their mouth (and wants and desires) is. They step right up and trade on public information. They are trained in spotting trends and understand that government intervention has disrupted supply/demand equilibrium. It's not rocket science but it does require guts AND the wilingness to be wrong, to fail and not go crying to mama when you skin your knee. There are even vehicles out there for Mom and Pop and plt's to participate - but, yes, IT IS SCARY! There are no do-overs and no safety nets.

Buying low and selling high is a beautiful thing, plt. NOT EVERYONE GETS IT RIGHT. I can't think of an economic system, that works, that does it any other way.

I am really slow. The twins read that as a great economic revealation. The guru has spoken. He commented on an answer to his own question. Mystical.........(play scary music now). Go ahead and tell them now that someone is playing that same game with the money in their retirement accounts. That the increases that they pay for everyday stuff is tied to the ups and downs of oil and is multiplied in transportation costs. What's up? Are you only spoonfeeding them the american capitalist propaganda? Americans are hurting Americans and you parade here as patriots. And you brag about it and they chime in on how you straightened me out. The high cost of fuel is what put American owner /operators on the shoulder this summer and you got a set of balls is how you explain it off. The only thing mystical about it is how they eat it up, thinking that they know something about the free market.

Benevolence is an attribute that kept the free markets free and by your admission you have sold it out at the expense of your countrymen. Run up a flag and salute yourself and your little army.

Though you won't understand the question, I'm gonna ask it then let you drool some more.

Where were the speculators storing/hiding all of this oil they took off the market?

Ciao...

Let me keep it simple, stupid! If we, the US, had reacted sooner and aggressively and said, "hell yeah, we're gonna drill here, drill now and drill like there is no tomorrow", the energy bubble would have burst before it really got started.

But, nooooooooooo....Pelosi/Reed had to drag their feet and worry about......what? Global non-warning? The Alaskan equivalent of a desert, but even more barren? The precious California coast? The Gulf of MexiChinese? I mentioned in my original explanation that the real CAUSE is a supply/demand imbalance caused by government policy. Anyone in the oil bidness will tell you that.
