Great job TH. Congrats to NM. You had a great season. Northeast Texas Baseball is dominant in the region in 4a, 3a, 2a, and 1a this season. Now let's all go win state.

On the TH game it was inevitable. You are the class of this region now win state for us hicks.

Great day in Texarkana with two representatives in the state tourney. Depth of Texas High pitching was the key factors. Having bats putting the ball over the fence helps also. Congrats to McKinney North on a great season. Onward to Austin (make that Round Rock).

we had a good day today and most of that was because we were more patient at the plate. the usually sound north defense committed 7 errors in the opener and that was way too much to overcome. fant threw a 1 hitter in game one and dudley pitched well after a giving up 3 hits and an unearned run in the 1st inning of the 2nd game. longball overcame the nickle and dime stuff today(although north did hit a solo shot, which surprised most folks) and the tigers took the crowd, the beating on the buckets, the horns, the PA attempts to fire up the fans and the emotion out of it for north after that first game. didn't understand why the north coaches were so upset about who was home team for game #3, but they were running off at the mouth pretty good at coach welch acting like they were gonna go after him. guess it was good they got fired up then cause that was about the only time for them for today. nice job tigers. on to austin.

from dallasnews.com. also some nice highlights(if you're a tiger fan) from game one on their website.

McKINNEY - Slade Heathcott was 4-for-7 with three home runs - including a grand slam - eight RBIs and a double as Texarkana Texas High defeated host McKinney North, 13-0 and 6-2, Saturday to win the Class 4A Region II final series, 2-1.

"We battled all year, got on a nice run in the playoffs and won seven in a row. We just couldn't get it done today," McKinney North head coach Jim Gatewood said.

Hunter Allday and Heathcott, an LSU signee, each had a two-run home run in Game 3. Texas High advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 1982.

Zach Diaz's solo home run cut the deficit to 4-2 in the fourth inning of Game 3 before Texas High turned its second consecutive inning-ending double play and held McKinney North (23-11), a 2006 state semifinalist, to one hit the rest of the way.

Kindle Ladd and Diaz each went 2-for-3 in Game 3 for McKinney North, which won the series opener, 2-1, on the road Thursday.

Arkansas signee Randall Fant allowed only Diaz's second-inning double in Texas High's five-inning, run-rule win in Game 2. McKinney North made seven errors in the loss.

Wonder what the heck that was all about.

 The big deal Claws was the fact that it appears Welch can't even change his diaper without the AD holding his hand. Saw it in '06 when North played you guys and the same this year. Most baseball coaches make their own decisions as to playoff particulars. Your AD won't Welch cough w/o asking permission. That said, congrats to you guys on a good win. Too bad also that there are a few #### on that team that should have their muzzles and hand gestures corraled. Of course, you probably didn't notice that.

LOL...nothing like a first post to set the tone for a new forum guy. Probably a first & last post for this sore loser. You had 2 of the 3 games at your place & you are still not satisfied.

nice 1st post! welcome to smoaky! don't know where you get off with the welch bashing, but that's your opinion. i mean i'm not gonna get on here and bash your coaches for not getting their players in the cage to hit or in the weightroom to get stronger...it's just not my way. north just ran on out on the field to their little music like they were home team and thought that no one would notice i guess. when our coaches inquire and try to get it straightened out, the north coaches start talking trash and wanting to throw down. and no i didn't notice any of our players making gestures nor did i hear any of them say anything. doesn't mean it didn't happen, but i was not in a position to view them in the dugout. i don't know how you heard anything anyone said with all of your horn blowing and bucket beating going on over on your side(by the way some of those girls were hitting those buckets pretty darn hard. since your coaches are such great decision makers, maybe they should decide to recruit a couple of them). maybe it was easier to hear when that game two beatdown started....i heard crickets on your side so that must've been when you heard our guys. your team obviously went farther than anyone thought, even your own coach. be thankful for the season they had and don't spoil it by taking shots at the tigers.

Hum McKinney North talking about being rude? How about beating drums and yelling during the pitchers wind and release? Oh well, its all good. Great season North. Good luck Tigers in Austin... HEATHCOTT - ALLDAY hitting bombs in Austin will be great.

Really not sure how that is "rude," but I don't think anyone can doubt that the best team in a three-game series won. We were just happy (and surprised) to be there. Some people are sooooooo sensitive.

Good luck in Austin!
