Seeing how there are only 5 places to eat in Eustace, this will be easy.

1. Hernandez

2. Sue's Roost

3. The Kitchen Table

4. Subway

5. The other Mexican food place that always changes its name

but seriously, the top 3 are some pretty good little food joints

I'm going to go with Tyler, since I don't like to claim OKC -- and there are very few really good eating options up here. Plus, I can't afford to eat at Mickey Mantle's.

So here are mine in Tyler:

1. Bruno's

2. Taqueria El Lugar

3. St. Louis Ribs

4. Mercados

5. Shogun

Sonoma Grill and Julian's are on my list of places I still need to visit in Tyler.

For College Station:

1. Freebirds (There are several throughout the state)

2. Layne's (Local place that serves ONLY chicken strips and fries; either as a sandwich or basket)

3. The Kettle (Great home-style cooked food!--Closest I've found to a "diner" down here)

4. Potato Shack (They put the "loaded" in a "Loaded Baked Potato")

5. The Dixie Chicken or just "The Chicken"--(Located on NorthGate  )

(There's a steak joint just down the road, [off Hwy 21 right before you get to Hwy 6 coming into B/CS] called "Sodalaks", have yet to eat there but I've been told it's good!!!)

For Tyler:

1. Taqueria El Lugar -( the Orginal one off Gentry by the Super 1 Foods) (I know the owner and family; good folks!)

2. Weinerland (hotdog joint accross from TJC off Fifth St.)

3. Dwayne's Country Cafe (Fifth St.)

4. Little Italy (Just "discovered" this last time I was in town....always seemed kinda shady, but the food was EXCELLENT!!)

5. Texas Roadhouse

Does anyone else miss Coffee Landing in Coffee City??? :(

My apologies for burning it down.

Oh, I have to add Texas Roadhouse to my list. Love it.

And despite the shadiness of the place -- how convenient it burned down twice -- but Red Acker's Catfish was awesome when it existed.

JERK!!!!!!! :whome:

1. Texas Roadhouse

2. McAllister's

3. Carter's BBQ (Best chicken and boudain in Longview plus it is very reasonably priced)

4. Magic China (great lunch specials and out-of-this-world hot and sour soup)

5. 5D Steakhouse in Avinger (Best ribeye I ever had was served here, they haven't been able to duplicate that perfection yet but it is always very good)

Honorable mention (fast food): Chic Fila on the corner of 4th and loop 281 for breakfast. The absolute best atmosphere for breakfast, quiet and calm. Food is good and the employees are always friendly, courteous and seem to enjoy working there.

Best Burger: Shirley Dean's in Diana. Good old fashioned hand pressed, greasy burger. No one around has better burgers.

In that case I'm going to have to get down to Ribmaster's.

See you at the Charro.
