HvilleCat23
I went to the scrimmage tonight and BOY was it confusing... Lindale seemed to have their first team on the field every play, but sometimes a few backups would come in. Not enough depth? Secondly, Hallsville did alot of the same except rarely ran their first team RB, Also 50/50 the QB position which i thought was smart. So ill begin my thoughts of the day. Lindale O - Looked very speedy with a quick QB and lots of draw plays, the receivers had a hard time getting open and hard hands. (could be most teams as of now) But overall shouldn't shoot for high scores but enough to compete for sure Lindale D- Looked much improved from last year imo, the linebackers looked good and corners were pretty good. The safety positions will be their weakness. But once again, this team has speed. Gonna fight for a top D imo for district 14-4a Hallsville O- hard to understand with who all was playing and when, but they looked pretty decent. We have a bundle of running backs to hand off to (something we havent had in a while) and a pretty good O-line (TEs, and running back blocks will be a huge problem) But other than that we have moved a safety to WR (Eric Mitchell, #20) and he was looking very solid at catching and running with the ball. The other receivers caught some and dropped some. QB play for #3 was pretty impressive imo. Hallsville D- Better than the past couple of years, stopping the run should not be a problem, Stops in the backfield all night. Quick D-line and a great set of linebackers. (#54 DE, and #5 LB going to be fun to watch this year =D) while safetys Quantrail Johnson and Eric Mitchell made some greak breakups all day i didnt see any that the lindale receivers caught that came their way, CB position is short, quick... but a little easy to toss around. Hallsvilles weakness this year. The scrimmage was pretty evenly matched with tons of turnovers. Hallsville and Lindale were in scoring postition time after time and couldnt get it done. Hallsville will have some pretty good kickers and a great punter this year, Lindales punter struggled more times than not, but the kicking game was inconsistent but at times looked great. The scrimmage ended with Hallsville pulling a safety on Lindale, then lindale driving for a late push and missing the 3 point chance. FINAL Hallsville:2 Lindale:

bobcats13
hallsville defense was pretty impressive against lindale. #5 Marcum made plenty of nice plays from the olb and safefy spot. #31 Henderson picked off a pass in the first series of the live half as well. there are quite a few play makers on defense, the real key to success is the play of the defensive line
HvilleCat23
Yeah, the devensive play was pretty sick... Cant wait to see how they finally fishout. They will be better than the past few years before. The defensive line was pretty quick, but suspect. BTW Bobcat fans, do you know who the whiteshirt player for Hallsville was on end? He looked about 6,5 and 215 pounds. Never seen him before. Thanks
bobcats13
he is sophomore. he is every bit of 6'5 but has alot of filling out to do to become 215. he has the frame to do it though. the biggest thing holing him back is his attitude and work ethic
HvilleCat23
That is good news, he has the frame to be great. But i could tell on some plays attitude was the key. I saw him run from one side of the field to the other to make a tfl on a RB sweep. Impressive for a soph. Hope he comes around soon
