"rabbitts&canes" reeled in the top spot with a solid
17-3 record. However, he wasn't alone as "StillWatchin"
posted that identical showing with a perfect NFL slate.

The victor gets the nod by virtue of the
"early-bird" tiebreaker by posting some
20 hours earlier than his closest competitor.

Three Smoaky.commers fell just one game short of the
top duo in going 16-4 for 2nd place recognition.

Four other posters capped the leaderboard finishing 15-5
for Honorable Mention plaudits.

winner of the Bowl Games Prediction Contest.

In the event of a tie (which we've had a few) the other

efforts and as a consolation prize.

The DEADLINE for the Bowl Games Contest will be
on Tuesday December 20th at 6:00pm. It's one hour

week. Getting that number will involve adding a few
new HS pairings considering that only one East Texas
5A team now remains alive in the playoff picture (Lufkin).

We're including a couple of the Garland 5A entrants
to get a decent number of 5A matchups with which to
choose from.

Otherwise, a nice grouping of East Texas schools from
the smaller classifications will help to round out the full
slate of games to pick.

as well as the stretch run of the College season
and the half way point of the NFL campaign.

This week we'll offer the usual fare of 40 games to choose
from on the slate. There were so many HS games on the
schedule....actually selecting the best 25 matchups was
a little interesting and we're sure that making some of these
guesses will be just a tad tougher.

Anyway...we'll need the usual E-mail addresses

JTate posted a 30-8 winning ledger for the week while
taking the top spot. JTate was actually not alone with
that nifty run for the week. Kudos are also extended to
"GabeHorns" who finished with the same overall mark.

However, JTate's picks were in BEFORE GabeHorns giving
the prize to "JT" on the "early bird" tiebreaker.

Three Smoaky.commers wound up in a deadlock for the
runner-up spot for the week by falling just ONE pick off
the pace at 29-9.

One other poster finished 2 picks of the pace for Honorable
mention plaudits on the week.

Let me begin by apologizing for running a little late with
the contest this week ( as I'll "usually" have it up on the
Sunday at the start of each week) but I've had a hectic
yet entertaining road trip to Columbus,Ohio the past five
days and just returned home within the last hour.

AND be in attendance to see my alma mater win a
really exciting game as well.

FORTY (40) High School matchups have been selected
to get the contest started. PLEASE keep in mind that
yours truly also grades these entries so IF your HS
team is not here this week then pretty much all teams
will be included at some point throughout the season.

Generally speaking....there will be somewhere in the
area of 40 TOTAL games (HS,Colleges & NFL) that will
be listed per each week of the contest season.

Smoaky has sent the word out that the weekly prize
winner will receive a Smoaky.com hat. They are the
adjustable variety and come in several different colors.
which will be sent out per HIS discretion.

Smoaky will be mailing them to each weekly winner
and that brings me to a VERY IMPORTANT part....

Kirt TOPPED all challengers as he went 23-6 overall. He
was the ONLY poster who correctly predicted all 5 College
matchups for the week....which ultimately provided the
margin of victory!(Note the 6th college game originally

AVID posters on the site ....as well as the "newbies" who'd like to play along.

Furthermore, Smoaky is going OUT OF HIS WAY to offer up an
awesome PRIZE package to the winner, too...just as he did
for the intial or Zero week contest with the pair of Cowboy
game tickets that were won by Sandman.

The winner will receive a "Play-N-Stay" package to the
Pine Dunes Golf Resort in Frankston,Texas. That's a
ONE night stay for FOUR and a full round of Golf for FOUR
to this fantastic resort that's just South of the Tyler area .

This is a TRUE PRIZE PACKAGE with a value in excess of
$500 !!

Of course, all rules within the site will be enforced
on determining the champion of this contest. Should
there be an overall tie at the top (which has
happened numerous times this season) THEN
the runner-ups will receive a Smoaky.com T-shirt
as a consolation and for their efforts.

There is an intial DEADLINE of Tuesday December 14, 2004
at 6:00pm. This is a short 30 minutes BEFORE kickoff of the
1st Bowl game.

However, the FINAL deadline will NOT be until the

than one hour before the 2nd bowl game starts.

This will be when the thread gets CLOSED for good.

Once again we had a "dead heat" finish topping out
the selection week. "beejers0829" won the crown
over 5 other posters. All 6 finished with 40-10 records.

The SIX-way tie is a first for the competition and the
victor won by virtue of the FINAL tie-breaker...the
earliest to post their picks.

The early bird gets the worm....so to speak.

Eagledad55, vying to retain his crown, was in a PHOTO finish
with "beejers". Both had identical records across the board.
However, beejers posted his picks WELL before last week's champ.

"sdaughety" was able to hang through the HS picks
but then fell one game off the college choices.

"cats" , "pirate4" , and "wishbone" ALL were just off the
mark by one or two games in the HS picks to follow further
consideration in the tie-break elimination format.

Four posters went 39-11 overall to nab prediction kudos.

SIX posters finished at 38-12 for honorable mention status
as well.

tie for the TOP SPOT.

was not to be denied this week and becomes the

TEN posters gained honorable mention status with 27-9
finishes....two picks off the pace set by "cats" !

It's REALLY hard to believe this is the FINAL week of
the regular season for the High School games.

"BigDaddy72" via the first "tie-breaker"...the HS picks.
However, he (cats) was perfect with his college picks.
