The Day the dims Took Over

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the House:

At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION <http://www.ontheissues.org/celeb/George_W__Bush_Jobs.htm> !

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????

OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

OBAMA and the Democratic Congress

So when some one tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.
Set the record straight on Bush! <http://brucehough.blogspot.com/2009/04/setting-record-straight-on-george-w.html>

"It's not that liberals aren't smart, it's just that so much of what they know isn't so" -Ronald Reagan

A Harley Davidson Biker's Tale

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.

The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I've seen a man do in my whole life.'

The Harley rider replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right.'

The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page... So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?'

The biker replies, ‘I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican’

The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

“U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH”

...and THAT pretty much sums up the media's approach to the news these days...

Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 15 months -- so you'll have two years and nine months to come up with an answer.

Every statement in this email is factual and directly attributable to Barrack Hussein Obama. Yet he and every swinging one of the libs voted against the surge that got us to a sort of victory. Wonder if obamahama narcississist will have the courage to admit Bush was right? Nah, he wouldnt stoop so low as to give any human being any credit, because he is in charge now!!

I thought the idea was to get rid of the cockroaches?

We Need A Revolution, Not A Movement

by Chuck Baldwin

August 27, 2010

Archived column: http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/?p=2172

The elections of 2008 (and the early elections of 2010) produced
two significant phenomena: the "Ron Paul Revolution," and the
"Tea Party Movement." And, mark it down: both of them will have
profound effects upon the upcoming November elections--and upon
the 2012 elections as well. Call them what you want, however,
America doesn't need another movement; it needs a genuine revolution.

The Tea Party movement, while still a force with which to be
contended, has already been diluted and compromised. The primary
elections plainly reveal the reality of this fact. The high spots
so far are the defeats of Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania and Bob
Bennett in Utah. The low spots so far are the reelection of John
McCain in Arizona and the election of Dan Coats in Indiana.

John McCain's election, in particular, demonstrates how many
conservatives and "revolutionaries" still don't get it. If any
State in the union should have an up-close-and-personal look at
what we are up against, it would be the people of Arizona. After
all, they are on the front lines in the fight of one of the most
important battles currently being waged in our country: illegal
immigration. And John McCain is one of the worst offenders in terms
of facilitating and encouraging this illegal invasion. Yet the people
of Arizona reelected McCain to the US Senate. (It would interesting
to know how many illegal aliens voted for McCain, would it not?)

Then again, John McCain received the enthusiastic endorsement of
former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin. This endorsement obviously
brought McCain thousands of Tea Party votes that otherwise would
have gone to his principal opponent, J.D. Hayworth. McCain is
not the only Big-Government globalist neocon to receive Palin's
endorsement. Many of Palin's endorsees are neocons; which leads
to one of the biggest problems with any so-called conservative
movement: allowing celebrity-type "conservatives" to become the de
facto leaders and spokesmen for what should be a true grassroots,
people-generated rebellion. Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are the two
biggest culprits in this regard.

Mark my words: Palin and Beck may see themselves as part of a
conservative "movement," but they want nothing to do with an
old-fashioned, honest-to-God, Patrick Henry-style revolution. In
fact, they are doing everything in their power to keep such a
revolution from taking place.

This does not mean that Palin and Beck do not contribute some good
things to freedom's fight. They do. The problem is, for every
good thing they contribute they counterbalance it by supporting
establishment principals, such as John McCain and Newt Gingrich,
and attacking non-establishment players and ideas, which serves
only to keep the Big-Government power structure firmly ensconced
in Washington, D.C.

Get real, folks, and start thinking for yourselves. Ask yourself why
Fox News never (or hardly ever) invites non-establishment patriots
to appear on their network. Why do you not see former Assistant
Secretary of the Treasury Paul Craig Roberts on Fox News? Why do
you not see former Georgia congressman and Presidential candidate
Bob Barr on Fox News? Why do you not see former Minnesota governor
Jesse Ventura on Fox News? Why do you not see former Director of the
US Office of Economic Opportunity and Presidential candidate Howard
Phillips on Fox News? Why do you not see Presidential candidate
Chuck Baldwin on Fox News? The list is endless.

Fox News is not "fair and balanced." It is as controlled and
manipulated as any other media news network. The only thing it
balances is the other networks' infatuation with the Democrat Party,
by promoting Republican candidates and ideas. What it does not do
is educate and inform the American people with the truth as to what
both major parties are doing to destroy our country. But remember,
Fox News is owned by Keith Rupert Murdoch, the same man who helped
finance Hillary Clinton's campaign for the US Senate, and who is as
much of a globalist as anyone in Washington, D.C., or New York City.

As an aside, and speaking of Hillary Rodham, I predict that
she will replace Vice President Joe Biden BEFORE the 2012
elections. I've said that in private for many weeks, and now say
it in this column--remember, you heard it here. The Clinton-Bush
Crime Syndicate (CBCS) needs Hillary in the White House badly,
and Obama has readily accepted a subservient role in the criminal
affairs of CBCS (for very profitable reasons, no doubt). And with
the CBCS bosses pretty much running things at the White House (they
don't worry about domestic or social issues, providing that these
do not interfere with their international criminal activities),
is it any wonder that Obama has already taken more vacations than
most Presidents take during an entire term?

And it is the influence of globalists and neocons upon national
and international politics that the likes of Sarah Palin and Glenn
Beck simply do not get--or do not want to get. And because many Tea
Partiers are so enamored with these two (and allow them to do much
of their thinking for them), they remain clueless as well.

Ladies and gentlemen, America is in the throes of socialist and
Marxist political upheaval. The curtain could fall at any time. The
American people need to wake up to this truism: a "conservative"
movement--even a conservative Tea Party movement--will not save
us. The only thing that will save us is an old-fashioned State
revolt.

Arizona had the opportunity to become a modern-day version of 1775
Massachusetts. But Arizona has probably forfeited that leadership
role by 1) reelecting John McCain, and 2) being willing to allow
federal courts to dictate law to a sovereign State. Instead of
taking its case to the federal courts, Arizona should simply
tell the federal government that it will enforce its own State
laws (including the newly enacted anti-illegal immigration law)
regardless of what any federal court says or doesn't say. At some
point, that is exactly what some State (or group of states) in this
union is going to have to do, or liberty will be forever lost.

As long as freedom lovers are content to remain satisfied with
the status quo by allowing party politics and media celebrities to
dominate their efforts, there will be no stopping this socialist
avalanche that is crashing down upon us. The Tea Party movement
of 2010 (if left free of Big-Government neocons) could certainly
translate into positive developments this November; that is for
sure. A revival of the "Ron Paul Revolution" in 2012 could also
make a significant contribution, but it is going to take a State
revolution to seal the deal. I, for one, am ready.

*If you appreciate this column and want to help me distribute these
editorial opinions to an ever-growing audience, donations may now
be made by credit card, check, or Money Order.
McCain in

August 24, 2010

By Frosty Wooldridge

In an almost bewildering U.S. Senate seat run-off, John McCain spent $20 million to defeat challenger J.D Hayworth. A grizzled old man, with extraordinary amounts of money, bought the Arizona senate seat one more time.

McCain, a 21th century anachronism, completely out of touch with today’s world—and one of the big reasons for America’s current $700 billion annual trade deficit, insourcing-offshoring-outsourcing of jobs, 15 million unemployed, 41.1 million subsisting on food stamps, 20 million illegal aliens, nine year war in Iraq and Afghanistan and a $13 trillion federal deficit—will get another crack at doing his darnedest to destroy this republic.

Einstein said, “The problems in the world are so enormous they cannot be solved with the level of thinking that created them.”

Arizona writer Don Hank said, As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Yet the ‘fools’ of Arizona returned McCain to Congress. Go figure!

This constitutional republic no longer features, “…of the people, by the people, for the people.”

New line: this constitutional republic stands for, “of the money, by the rich, for the elite.”

It’s possible the 1776 Federalists finally triumphed!

Jefferson, Monroe, Madison and Washington writhe in their graves.

Arizona voters returned to the vomit of John McCain. He serves none other than the moneyed corporations, private interests, elite and privileged. Yet, Arizona fools returned him to their folly back for another six years of incompetence.

Since the immigration amnesty in 1986, signed by McCain as he promised to secure the borders for all time, he did nothing to stop the onslaught of 20 million illegal migrants, millions through Arizona, and today—we suffer a full-blown constitutional crisis with anchor babies and 20 million humans calling for their legalization for breaking our laws.

I shake my head, roll my eyes and wonder how Arizona voters can be THAT stupid! They passed SB 1070 because of John McCain’s ineptitudes for the past 26 years. They suffer 57,000 cars stolen every year because of McCain’s incompetence. Arizona suffers the most kidnappings in the United States via McCain’s corruption at the highest levels. Arizona suffers incredible unemployment, crime, drunk driving illegals, trashed schools and bankrupting hospitals—yet they still voted the old dog back into his U.S. Senate seat.

The movie, “Dumb and Dumber” could not equal the folly of the dogs returning to their vomit.

The question remains: why would an old man, so rich and so totally a failure in Congress—once again attempt to mount the horse and grab the reins for one more power gallop into the Halls of Congress?

As in feudal Europe, kings and queens never gave up power. That’s why Thomas Jefferson and George Washington hated them so much. It’s why they created a ‘people-driven’ republic. But the ‘people’ fail themselves in their inability to make articulate decisions.

We can expect more of the same failures now facing us to continue mounting with the re-election of John McCain and others like him in Congress that brought this nation to its knees.

##

How is the Tea Party working for you today?

The book garnered major media attention and informed legions of tea party members on the West Coast, where Sussman is the morning host of KSFO – the fourth largest radio market in the nation.

Certainly, public outcry contributed to the administration's and Congress' quiet – but as Sussman cautions, temporary – abandonment of pursuing cap and trade legislation. Politico described the setback as "one of the sharpest rebukes to a sitting president in recent memory."

Still, too much is invested for the initiative to stall for long, Sussman warns. In "Climategate," Sussman became the first author to detail the plan to bring "Big Brother" into every American home via the Smart Meters and the Smart Grid. The Smart technology will allow unseen bureaucrats to literally control each household's appliances, air conditioner and heater.

"That Smart Meter is going to run your life," says Sussman. "And it will be the tool allowing a handful of elites to become filthy rich. If the Senate passes this bill and it's successfully reconciled with the House bill, we will have taken a giant step closer to living in Orwell's Oceania."

The Smart Meter will replace the standard electric and gas meters attached to homes and buildings nationwide, says Sussman. They utilize remote technology to measure and record energy usage minute-by-minute.

Sussman said that months before the Smart Meters were set into law, Franklin Raines, former chairman of government-sponsored mortgage giant Fannie Mae – and adviser to both Presidents Clinton and Obama – received patents titled "System and Method for Residential Emissions Trading."

Not only do the patents give Fannie Mae the exclusive rights for identifying and measuring energy savings in homes by way of the Smart Meter, Sussman says they "seduce consumers with promises of energy savings occurring by 'replacing older appliances with more energy-efficient appliances; upgrading domestic hot-water heating systems; upgrading heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; modifying lighting; fuel switching and renovating the entire home,' and speak of 'installing insulating insulation in attics and exterior walls; installing more efficient windows; and reducing infiltration.'"

"Citizens," Sussman said, "will be muscled into participating in this program via government giveaways. Upgrades to appliances and weatherization improvements will be partially offset with rebates. Likewise, reductions in energy use will be rewarded with up to $8,000 in cash."

Homes and buildings that effectively meet the new code will gain a certificate from the coming "Energy Performance Labeling Program," said Sussman. "Without the certificate you will likely not be able to sell your home, or obtain a loan to refinance your property.

"While Americans are in a tizzy spending money to reduce their carbon footprint," he said, "a handful of political cronies are going to be getting really green – with passive income peeled off the backs of Mr. and Mrs. America."

</DIV>

Glenn Beck problems?

http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-...?articleid=6434
Ed Decker Responds to Donna Rogers' Article Criticizing The Radio Program of Brannon Howse On Glenn Beck's Divine Destiny Meeting

After reading Donna Rogers' remarks regarding Brannon Howse's statement re: Glenn Beck's "Divine Destiny" movement, I would suggest that before she publishes any further criticisms of Brannon, she should at least do enough research to spell his name correctly. She should also take a good look at why Beck's claim of true Christianity causes so many Christian pastors and leaders to object publicly.

To begin with, she quotes one single comment from an hour-long program from which to launch her criticism, of not only Brannon, but also all the other Christians who are not fawning over Beck.

That said, I am touched by the zeal of her comments about the purity of Glenn Beck's purposes and his divine call to be today's King Hezekiah and like King Jehoshaphat in his work to restore the nation, but she misses the intent of Brannon Howse's statements by a country mile.

Using a similar, Biblical association, I would have to compare Brannon to the apostle Paul who, when warning about false teachers among the believers, said:

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Cor 11:2-4 KJV

You see, it is not Beck's good works that matter in the end. It is his testimony of salvation through Jesus that matters. Lot's of great men and women who do great works of good out there, bearing great fruit, but are decidedly not Christian. There are two kinds of fruit the Bible discusses. The fruit of your life to which Rogers refers with regard to testing Beck and the fruit of your doctrine , which Brannon and I clearly discussed.

It is back to the Question Jesus asked, "Who do men say that I am?" There-in is the rub and the danger to orthodox Christian doctrine when men like Beck, speaking as oracles of God, define faith, religion and right standing with God and feel compelled to draw the confused among us back to the core principles they so fully represent.

Let's cut to the chase here. Glenn Beck is a dedicated Temple Mormon who claims that 80% of the Mormon faith is built around the temple and the "Time and all eternity" effects of the rituals there-in. [see: www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/mormon-glenn-beck-on-succesful-marriage/7d5c9d2abd18c90f99937d5c9d2abd18c90f9993-166644090209?q=Glenn%20beck%20mormonism

According to LDS scripture and sacred instructions worthy Mormons receive in the temple, the god Beck serves is a physical, exalted man who lives with a harem of goddess wives on a planet near the great star Kolob. This god, Elohim, is the god of this one planet earth only. He is a man/god raised up from within this universe.

The God of the Bible is the One who created the universes. The Bible says that he is not a man, there were no gods before Him, none beside Him or after Him, and He knows not any. This True God created all the heavens and was before all creation. He did not have to earn his godhood being obedient to some other god up the chain of command.

Beyond that, As crazy as this may sound, understand that Glenn Beck learned all the secret/sacred signs, tokens and special handshakes he will need as he, hopefully, enters his own godhood, receives his own planet and goddess wives to help him populate it. Yes, Glenn Beck strives to become a god, himself.

The Jesus Beck serves, is not God come in the flesh. He is a separate 'god' who was elected to be our savior by a council of other gods. The Jesus of Mormonism is the spirit brother and equal of Lucifer until the council voted in Jesus.

This Jesus died on the cross so all mankind would be resurrected to be judged for their works, their obedience to the laws and ordinances of the [LDS] Gospel.

Sorry, Donna Rogers, this is not the God and Jesus of Christianity. They are distorted figures of a false gospel, the one Paul warns about in the above scripture.

You list a group of Christian leaders as though it would impress us that Beck has to be a Christian.. I say shame on them that they would sell their birthrights as pastors called to defend their flocks from false teachers and deceivers for bowls of porridge and a few minutes of stage time with this foolish, deceived and dangerous man who feels called to bring us all back to the truth.

While he is busy digging up pre-Columbian Hebrew scrawlings in Tennessee, trying to build a groundwork for bringing us all into the Book of Mormon fables, he ought to take a few moments and be honest about his true faith, the one he hides so well in his warm fuzzy way, the one where he is planning his own godhood.

Click here to hear the complete one hour radio program of Brannon Howse that Donna is criticizing:
http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-...episodeid=17190

Ed Decker, founder of Saints Alive, was a Mormon for 20 years of his adult life. The U.S. government has been the target of cyber intrusions the report says appear to have originated in China and aimed to steal military secrets. "These intrusions focused on exfiltrating information, some of which could be of strategic or military utility," the report said.

Though their two countries are increasingly interlinked economically, ties between the U.S. military and the People's Liberation Army of China have deteriorated since January, when the Obama administration notified Congress of a plan to sell Taiwan up to $6.4 billion in arms.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has appealed to the Chinese to re-engage to reduce the risk of military miscommunications. But U.S. officials say they have seen few signs of a thaw.

Washington has long voiced alarm over China's military buildup opposite Taiwan. In this year's report, which was delivered months behind schedule, the Pentagon said China's military edge over Taiwan was continuing to "shift in the mainland's favor," the main argument used by the Obama administration in approving the arms deal.

A particular concern for the U.S. is China's development of an antiship ballistic missile with a projected range of nearly 1,000 miles. The missile is meant to give the PLA the capability of attacking ships in the western Pacific, the report said.

Some experts say the missile could herald the end of U.S. naval domination. Others say the PLA has yet to conduct any realistic tests of the conventionally armed ballistic missile and has no reliable way of targeting U.S. carrier task forces when they are at sea because China doesn't have enough low-earth-orbit reconnaissance satellites.

A senior defense official called the antiship missile a "great concern" but added: "They still have a long way to go."

The new missile is part of what the Pentagon described as "the most active land-based ballistic and cruise missile program in the world."

The report said China's military has established information-warfare units to develop viruses to attack computer systems of its adversaries as well as tactics to protect its own networks. The ability to conduct cyber attacks fits within China's broader goal of conducting asymmetric warfare to exploit weaknesses in stronger enemies like the U.S.

The report referenced cyber intrusions it says appear to have originated within China. It is unclear whether these were conducted by or at the behest of the Chinese military.

The Wall Street Journal reported last year, and U.S. officials recently acknowledged publicly, that the Pentagon's largest weapons program, the Joint Strike Fighter, had been infiltrated. Investigators believe attackers in China were behind the effort to siphon off engineering designs and other information.

State Rep. Joe Driver of Garland double-billed for travel

QUOTE

11:10 PM CDT on Monday, August 16, 2010

AUSTIN – State Rep. Joe Driver of Garland, who rails against the evils of runaway government spending, admitted Monday that he has pocketed thousands of dollars in taxpayer money for travel expenses that his campaign had already funded.

The veteran Republican legislator, faced with findings from an investigation by The Associated Press, acknowledged in an interview that for years he has been submitting the same receipts – for luxury hotels, airline tickets, meals, fees and incidentals – to both his campaign and to the Texas House. He has also been collecting thousands of dollars in state mileage reimbursements for travel in vehicles for which his campaign has shelled out more than $100,000 since 2000.

JOE DRIVER The AP's review of hundreds of pages of state and campaign travel records found that Driver double-billed for at least $17,431.55 in travel expenses, much of it at upscale out-of-state hotels, since 2005. The number could go higher, but House travel records before mid-2005 have already been destroyed. Driver has been in office for 18 years. The double-billing figure does not include the vehicle expenses.

A conservative on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, which oversees how state dollars are spent, Driver said he thought it was OK to bill two entities for the same expenses. He said he routinely pays hotels and airlines with donated political funds and then submits the same expenses to the state, taking the taxpayer money for himself.

"Now you're scaring the heck out of me," Driver told the AP, adding: "It pretty well screws my week."

He vowed to pay back the state for any dollars that he was not entitled to receive.

Two ethics watchdogs say that lawmakers who submit the same expenses to two different entities could run afoul of both civil and criminal law. Fred Lewis, an independent political watchdog who has been urging ethics reform in Texas, said Driver is probably not the only legislator collecting taxpayer money for travel that their donors actually pay for.

"It's essentially double-dipping," Lewis said. "This is a very serious problem. ... It's wrong, because you can't ask the state to reimburse you for something for which you have not incurred an expense."

Chad Dunn, general counsel for the Texas Democratic Party, said he would ask the Travis County district attorney's Public Integrity Unit to open a formal investigation.

Driver insists he thought the double-billing was perfectly appropriate – until talking about it with the AP.

"Well, it doesn't sound like it is now. If you bring it up that way," he said.

Driver, former chairman of the House Law Enforcement committee, said that state ethics authorities approved the arrangement years ago, but he couldn't remember who told him that or when it was. He said he was told to just keep the state money and not reimburse his campaign for the expenditure.

The Ethics Commission says it doesn't provide such advice because campaign money can't be legally converted to personal use.

Ethics Commission deputy general counsel Tim Sorrells said any state reimbursements for campaign travel would have to "go back to the campaign, not for your personal use."

Over the years, Driver has double-billed for numerous Southwest Airlines tickets to Austin from Dallas "to attend to legislative duties," records show. But his biggest reimbursements came during legislative conferences held out of state.

In August 2006, Driver's campaign paid $1,122.06 for him to stay at the Hotel Palomar in San Francisco to attend the annual meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council. Reports show the campaign also paid $450 in registration fees and $849.19 for a United Airlines flight.

All of the receipts for those expenses were then submitted to the state for reimbursements. The state wouldn't pay $10.80 for the movie Driver watched, but it picked up the balance for the Hotel Palomar, paid him for the registration fees and $800 for the United Airline tickets – the maximum amount the state would pay for the flights. For that trip, at least $2,361.26 was double-billed, records show.

There were several other reimbursements that netted Driver more than $1,000 in taxpayer payments, including more than $1,200 for a trip to Memphis, Tenn., in the final days of the 2009 legislative session. On that trip, House journals show Driver as present and voting in Austin on April 30 at least two dozen times – even though the travel records indicate he was traveling to Memphis during the proceedings.

The next day, on May 1, 2009, Rep. Tryon Lewis, R-Odessa, made a motion to have Driver excused to tend to "important business in the district." Driver didn't check out of the Memphis Marriott until May 3.

Driver, who faces Democrat Jamie Dorris in November, has made fiscal conservatism a hallmark of his re-election strategy. On his campaign website, Driver says in 2010 "taxpayers are in revolt against the big spending habits of liberals in government."

First elected to the House in 1992, he didn't have "a clue" when he first began claiming reimbursements for travel paid for by his campaign, he said.

"If I knew it was wrong, I wouldn't have done it that way," Driver said. "I wouldn't have done it just to make money."
________
AT A GLANCE: REP. JOE DRIVER
Legislative career: First elected in 1992. Former chairman of House Law Enforcement Committee. Faces Democrat Jamie Dorris in November.

Occupation: Insurance sales and service

Academic: Bachelor's degree, North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas), 1971

Personal: Age 62; lives with wife, Deanne, in Garland; two grown children

Yet another argument for term limits. He should resign immediately and another candidate take his spot.

Should the State consolodate small schools?

Should the State of Texas force smaller schools to consolodate? I DO NOT THINK THEY SHOULD AT ALL! But, there are economic advantages to this question. One is that when you consolodate students, you consolodate facilities, therefore less cost. The Texas Educational system is facing some very tough financial decisions. The same goes for the school districts. Hopefully, it does not come to this, but it could be a decision to be made someday.

Maybe he was recalling Rutherford B.
A tale of current events

Just received this - pretty much sums it up.

"How's this for apocalyptic literature? This was written by a
pastor's wife in biblical prose as a commentary of current
events. It is brilliant.

And it came to pass in the Age of Insanity that the people
of the land called America, having lost their morals, their
initiative, and their will to defend their liberties, chose
as their Supreme Leader that person known as "The One."

He emerged from the vapors with a message that had no
meaning; but He hypnotized the people telling them, "I am
sent to save you." My lack of experience, my questionable
ethics, my monstrous ego, and my association with evil
doers are of no consequence. I shall save you with hope and
Change. Go, therefore, and proclaim throughout the land
that he who proceeded me is evil, that he has defiled the
nation, and that all he has built must be destroyed. And the
people rejoiced, for even though they knew not what "The
One" would do, he had promised that it was good; and they
believed. And "The One" said "We live in the greatest
country in the world. Help me change everything about it!"
And the people said, "Hallelujah! Change is good!"

Then He said, "We are going to tax the rich fat-cats." And
the people said "Sock it to them!" "And redistribute their
wealth." And the people said, "Show us the money!" And then
he said, "redistribution of wealth is good for everybody."
"4"
And Joe the plumber asked," Are you kidding me? You're going
to steal my money and give it to the deadbeats??" And "The
One" ridiculed and taunted him, and Joe's personal records
were hacked and publicized.
One lone reporter asked, "Isn't that Marxist policy?" And
she was banished from the kingdom!

Then a citizen asked, "With no foreign relations experience
and having zero military experience or knowledge, how will
you deal with radical terrorists?" And "The One" said,
"Simple. I shall sit with them and talk with them and show
them how nice we really are; and they will forget that they
ever wanted to kill us all!" And the peoplesaid,
"Hallelujah!! We are safe at last, and we can beat our
weapons into free cars for the people!"

Then "The One" said "I shall give 95% ofyou lower taxes."
And one, lone voice said, "But 40% of us don't pay ANY
taxes." So "The One" said, "Then I shall give you some of
the taxes the fat-cats pay!" And the people said,
"Hallelujah! Show us the money!" Then "The One" said, "I
shall tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!" And
the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.
And He said, "I shall mandate employer-funded health care
for every worker and raise the minimum wage. And I shall
give every person unlimited healthcare and medicine and
transportation to the clinics." And the people said, "Give
me some of that!" Then he said, "I shall penalize employers
who ship jobs overseas." And the people said, "Where's my
rebate check?"

Then "The One" said, "I shall bankrupt the coal industry and
electricity rates will skyrocket!" And the people said,
"Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don't
care for that part about higher electric rates." So "The
One" said, Not to worry. If your rebate isn't enough to
cover your expenses, we shall bail you out. Just sign up
with the ACORN and you troubles are over!"

Then He said, "Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted.
Let's grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education,
free lunches, free medical care, bilingual signs and
guaranteed housing..." And the people said, "Hallelujah!"
and they made him king!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling
costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid
off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business
and the economy sank like unto a rock dropped from a cliff.
The banking industry was destroyed. Manufacturing slowed to
a crawl. And more of the people were without a means of
support.

Then "The One" said, "I am the "the One"- The Messiah - and
I'm here to save you! We shall just print more money so
everyone will have enough!" But our foreign trading partners
said unto Him. "Wait a minute. Your dollar is not worth a
pile of camel dung! You will have to pay more... And "The
One" said, "Wait a minute. That is unfair!!" And the world
said, "Neither are these other idiotic programs you have
embraced. Lo, you have become a Socialist state and a
second-rate power. Now you shall play by our rules!"

And the people cried out, "Alas, alas!! What have we done?"
But yea verily, it was too late. The people set upon The One
and spat upon him and stoned him, and his name was dung. And
the once mighty nation was no more; and the once proud
people were without sustenance or shelter or hope. And the
Change "The One" had given them was as like unto a poison
that had destroyed them and like a whirlwind that consumed
all that they had built.

Andthe people beat their chests in despair and cried out in
anguish, "give us back our nation and our pride and our
hope!!" But itwas too late, and their homeland was no more."

TJC and its new proposed tax hike

Just received this... Tyler's gone kinda bonkers...

"If you're not prepared to have the Commissioners Court raise your taxes, then you're not likely prepared for this one:

What: First of two public hearings on the TJC proposal to increase
property taxes

When: Thursday, August 12 @ 11:00 a.m. (the second public hearing
will be Thursday, August 19 @ 11 AM)

Where: Board Room, White Administrative Services Center on the Tyler
Junior College campus

You are asked to attend this meeting tomorrow. Please sign up to
speak as individual taxpayers against a tax increase of this size. An
official Grassroots statement will be presented at the second public
hearing, but we need YOU to show up tomorrow AND then again next
Thursday! If we don't speak out, they will think the taxpayers do not
care!

Facts you need to know compiled from Appraisal District information,
the TJC web site and the Tyler Morning Telegraph:

The Tyler Junior College Board of Trustees is proposing to increase
taxes by 33.57%. The proposed rate increase is 4.6 cents on the tax
rate.

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in the TJC District
last year was $129,446. Based on last year’s tax rate of .136950 per
$100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed last year on the
average home was $177.28.

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in the TJC District
this year is $125,771. If the governing body
adopts the effective tax rate for this year of .138983 per $100 of
taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average
home would be $174.80. [Note: the effective tax rate would bring in
the SAME amount of taxes as last year and takes into consideration the
decline in taxable values.]

If TJC adopts the proposed tax rate of .182926 per $100 of taxable
value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on
the average home would be $230.07.

Important points to remember: TJC is also taxing businesses. Where
possible, business will pass tax increases down to consumers. To say
that people over-65 are not impacted by property tax increases is
false. This is insulting to the over-65 crowd because it says they
only care about themselves and do not care about the impact on younger
families or the economy as a whole.

Part of this rate increase is to pay for $24.5 million in maintenance
tax notes the TJC Board approved in 2009 to cover what they called
"failing infrastructure." The funds were to be used to replace
leaking roofs, foundation problems, a failing electrical power grid,
sewer and water systems. The Board chose maintenance tax notes to
borrow the money instead of going to the voters. They chose
maintenance tax notes because that financing method cannot be recalled
by the voters as can certificates of obligation.

In 2009, the TJC Board finally started setting aside a little less
than one cent on the tax rate to start a "pay as you go" preservation
fund for facilities. Wonder why it took 84 years for an elected board
to decide it would be smart to set aside tax dollars each year to keep
buildings repaired instead deferring maintenance and allowing the
facilities to decline? All the years that there was a booming
economy, TJC set aside no money for the buildings and now that we have
sales tax in decline and a declining economy, they bring forward a
whopping tax increase!

It is important to look at the impact of property tax increases on the
community as a whole. Increasing taxes during this kind of economic
climate further damages the economy.

TJC Salary increases from Sunday's Tyler Morning Telegraph:

TJC proposed a budget of about $30.9 million for faculty and staff
salaries for the 2011 fiscal year, about a $1.3 million increase from
the previous year in which about $29.6 million was budgeted for
salaries.

Full-time faculty salaries for the 2011 fiscal year are proposed to
increase by about $416,000 -- about $15.5 million from about $15.1
million.

Part-time faculty salaries also increased in the 2011 proposed budget
to about $2.5 million from about $2.3 million in the previous budget.

Its $26.2 million salary budget was steady during 2009-10 and 2008-09.
In 2007-08, the college budgeted about $24 million.

"We tried to improve (salaries) and now I'm worried, really worried,
that we're going to lose ground," Metke said.

TJC gave all full-time employees a 2 percent across-the-board raise in
September 2008. After the college was certain enrollment would
increase and funding was available, full-time employees received an
additional 2-percent raise, along with $500 in January 2009.

With that raise, TJC Metke and TJC Provost Homer "Butch" Hayes'
salaries went to $243,309 from $233,388 (4.24% increase) and to
$140,000 from $118,262 (18.4% increase) respectively."

We have a Swedish friend spending the last two weeks with us and I have been picking his brain about Euro Socialism and I have to admit my mind has been opened and I have learned some things

For all those that say Obama and the left wants us to be more like Euro Socialist, that is plain not true

Here in America the left want to take from the the rich and give to the poor while excluding the rich..basically making them foot the bill but not be able to take part in any of the programs

In European countries, EVERYONE pays in and EVERYONE is eligible for the services. There is no one group funding for everyone.

He has been telling me in Sweden most unemplyed DO try their hardest to find work ASAP even when on the dole as they look.

I guess the thing I can now respect about their way of doing it is as I said EVERYONE is eligible and EVERYONE pays in.

That of course will never happen here because one side wants the Richer folks to pay but only the poor can enjoy the services the rich pay for.

Now not saying I am for their way, I am just more educated now on HOW they do it

Those compasionate liberals. Or do they vote money just to stay in power and really dont care aout the poor.? Dont know about you , but if I was down and out, I would show up at a church full of conservatives before I showed up at a democrat picnic wanting some help.

While we are on teachers, many conservatives are going after the "public" sector retirement system--well that gets close, but I will probally teach until 65 or 70. But do they have a point about say a guy who started teaching at 22, worked his way to a 200,000 Supt job ( I dont begrudge that salary, as if he has 500 employees- that is still smaller than CEOS make) and then retires at 53? He would have 30 years, so his indicator is 60.3%. 60.3% of 200000 is 120,000 a year. If he lived for 30 more years, which is highly possible , he will collect over 3 million. At 6% he didnt contribute near that, I think that is what is making folks look at it. Of course Congress does even better in retirement!!!!

Obama at UT

Received this and articulates from a person who was there... interesting!

"A few notes from Monday’s Obama Remarks at the University of Texas…

By Greg Holloway, Austin Tea Party Patriots

Thanks to our Congressman, Lamar Smith, Judy and I were invited to attend the remarks given by President Obama at the University of Texas on Monday. We had the pleasure of meeting Susan Heckmann, Rep. Smith’s liaison, at UT and spending the afternoon with her. Here are a few bits of information you may not have read about in the paper or seen on the news:

Long lines – Although everyone had a ticket, all attendees were required to go through security to enter Gregory Gym, where the event was held. Imagine 3,500 folks lined up pretty much single file to get in. That’s how long the line was. It took us about 1 hour, 15 minutes from the end of the line to the door. It wasn’t a bad wait, however. There were two stations in line from which ice cold water was distributed. A very nice touch by UT.

Security – Security was fairly quick. Frankly, it was easier than the security line at the airport. Judy noted that, although we are required to have a picture ID to hear a President speak, we are not required to have a photo ID to vote for one.

The Gym – Gregory Gym was well air-conditioned. It was fairly easy to find a seat near our designated area. Most of the Longhorns football team, all in matching shirts, were lined up with Sally Brown (the coach’s wife) in the front row of the balcony just to the left of the stage.

The beginning – Much to our surprise, the event started on time. More importantly, it started with the crowd standing for the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Very nice. Just as nice were short introductory speeches by three UT students. The President was introduced by a doctoral candidate, Rian K. Carkhum, who was very impressive. We met her afterwards.

The speech – We were prepared for a very partisan speech. Instead, the speech minimized the President’s personal references and focused on why we want more students to attend and complete degree work in college. Of course, the President couldn’t help but note that he thought that the federal takeover of the student loan program would save $60 billion and pave the way for 8 million more college students by 2020. Can’t say I really follow that logic. The President did give props to some of the local Democrat office holders in the crowd (Doggett, Watson, Leffingwell and Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston), but overall it was a fairly non-partisan address.

The crowd – Applause was energetic, but not wild. Lots of folks did not applaud at all. The UT football team was immobile. There was only one single shout of “Yes we can” from the crowd, which was a great blessing. (The MoveOn.org rally we attended in connection with the healthcare fight last summer was nauseating by comparison.) The crowd was extremely civil and well-behaved.

Final thoughts – Bill White should have attended. Rick Perry showed gumption by meeting the President at the landing of Air Force One and handing him a letter requesting more border security.

tylerteaparty.org"

Tyler and property taxes

Received this from the Tyler Tea Pearty and saw a bit of a different way of looking at it... interesting, never actually thought about it like that.

"County Commissioners will hear public comment on a proposed 14% increase of property taxes this morning and again on Aug 17th at 9:30AM.

Commissioners Warr and Phillips seem to lean toward cutting employee hours or salaries. Hampton & McGinnis want no cuts.

Real US unemployment is estimated to be between 18 and 20%. We might ask the Court what is the County employee unemployment rate? Concomitantly, 1 in 5 home mortgages are underperforming. How many County employees are unable to make timely mortgage payments?

Should private citizens who are 18% unemployed and 20% behind on there home payments be asked to shoulder all sacrifice for an increased county budget?

Shouldn't county employees who are close to 100% employed, make $11 more per hour than the private sector and are not behind on their mortage payments understand their responsibility in shouldering some or most of this new tax burden?

This morning's Tyler Paper reports that since 2000, the county's levy (income) has jumped from $18M to $38M because the assessed valuation has jumped from $7B to $13.5B (93% increase) and the tax rate from 22.95 cents to the proposed 33 cents (a 44% increase in the same time period.

A recent report from El Paso stated that the property values had devaluated so much in that area, that tax revenues wouldn't fulfill county costs. The County Commissioners Court there plans to raise property taxes dramatically to cover the difference!

Folks...it's time to face facts! America's problems are OUR problems. Property tax increased affect ALL of us! Apartment complexes have to pay them too...taxes go up...rent goes up. It's time to buck up or stay in the truck!

tylerteaparty.org"

This new federal republic had to recognize and honor the state governments that were already constructed, and the local governments within these states, if the new federal republic were to have any chance of succeeding.

The Constitution these men formulated contained two provisions to ensure that the new government would forever remain a federal republic: a Senate chosen by state governments; and a President chosen indirectly by what came to be known as the Electoral College. The 17th Amendment destroyed a major safeguard of the federal republic by allowing Senators to be chosen by the public, rather than by the states.

The 17th Amendment was a significant part of the wave of progressivism ushered in by the Wilson administration in 1913. Imposition of the income tax, the Federal Reserve, the Interstate Commerce Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, began the attack by progressives on the federal republic the founders had so carefully constructed.

The Electoral College is the last and only element of the Constitution that keeps the United States of America from being formally transformed into a direct democracy. Now, the progressives have taken aim, and are attacking this last bastion of the federal republic.

Direct election of Senators came as the result of a Constitutional Amendment, which can be reversed as was the prohibition amendment - another progressive-era mistake. The war on the Electoral College is taking a different path: states are enacting legislation that authorizes all the state's electors to be awarded to the national winner of the popular vote, regardless of the how the people voted in the state.

Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland, and now Massachusetts have all enacted legislation that pledges to assign their state's electors to the winner of the national popular vote in the presidential election, regardless of how the voters in the state voted.

Prior to this new war on the Electoral College, in all states except Nebraska and Maine, all the state's electors were assigned to the candidate who received the most votes in the state. This is the winner-take-all system. This system assures that small states have a say in the selection of the President.

Progressives argue that the winner-take-all system is not democratic. So be it. It was not designed to be democratic; it was designed to help balance the power between and among the states and the various branches of government. It was designed to make government function as a federal republic rather than a democracy.

Few people understand the importance of the Electoral College because schools have all but erased the subject from the curriculum. The Electoral College is cumbersome, it is confusing, it is frustrating for the supporters of Al Gore who saw the Electoral College bestow the presidency on George W. Bush who received fewer popular votes than did Al Gore.

Consider the effect of eliminating the Electoral College: direct democracy.

The president would be chosen by urban population centers. There would be no need to campaign in rural states. There would be no need to be concerned about the needs and cares of rural people. There would be no interest in the minority.

The genius of the American system of governance is the carefully developed balance of power between the states and the federal government, the various branches of government, and between conflicting philosophies of governance. When the minority is driven from the debate, or ignored, tyranny reins.

The first 18 months of the Democratic regime in Washington has demonstrated how the majority can ignore the minority and the Constitution. In the cycle of governance, democracy is the last phase before anarchy. The founders wanted no part of a democracy; they created a federal republic.

A democracy is often described as two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner. The wolves are at the door of our federal republic.

Distributed by www.ChristianWorldviewNetwork.com
http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-...?articleid=6385

Romer leaves WH - this will blow your mind.

http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/a...er_to_leave.php

Now once reading the article, as I occasionally do, I'll skim down and read the comments. It absolutely is hilarious to me to see what these progressive liberals (socialists in sheep's clothing) say about the present administration, even though, they openly say they voted for 'em and donated to 'em...

Now, this one just about had me rolling....

"Uggh. Another progressive leaves an administration already lacking progressive voices.

Summers was the worst pick ever, along with that weasel Geithner and Rahm "Karl Rove" Emanuel. At least Romer was a progressive voice to counter the the Harvard/Chicago axis that represents Goldman Sachs, Wall St and the kind of unfettered, unregulated, "free"-market larceny that has been eroding this country's economic vitality for 30 years, while making the rich much richer still. Summers and company are the same ding-dongs and charlatans posing as economic gurus who have enabled the on-going plunder of America. Looks like Romer finally got fed up with the status-quo Obama admin that only pays occasional lip-service to doing what's needed after 30 years of systematic dismantling of the New Deal and consumer protections. From the beginning, it was obvious she was only picked as part of the economics team to provide window dressing to placate progressives, while it was always Summers and Geithner who ran the show.

I'm sickened by the Obama admin at this point. Time and time again they have shown an overly eager willingness to throw progressives under the bus - whether it's chucking key principles immediately while getting almost nothing in return, or quickly firing progressives when the Right whines too much. People like Van Jones and Romer should be held onto - while Rahm, Summers and Geithner should never have been appointed in the first place. Hell, Rahm is quite outspoken about taking progressives for granted - he doesn't even hide his disdain for them.

From foreign policy to domestic policy, this admin can best be described centrist or a hair center-right. Better than the previous admin, to be sure, but you can't really say they are up to the challenge of this time in history. Obviously I am more to the left, but I'm not dogmatic about it. For progressives, it's really not about getting our pet programs enacted or our pet ideologies catered to - it's about addressing the unique times we find ourselves in. After 30 years of uninterrupted free-market policies that have seen regulations gutted, our manufacturing base shipped over-seas, and general plunder run amok to the point where most of the economy is built on fraud... well, the times scream for a more vigorous progressive rollback of the damaging, failed policies of the corporate right. Incrementalism, splitting the difference, triangulation, and all the usual fluffy bipartisan #### (read: capitulation to corporate interests) isn't going to begin to address the fundamental problems this nation is saddled with - and everytime those are tried, it only blows up in the administration's face. The needed solutions are watered down to the point where they cannot address the problems effectively, and the wingnuts STILL demonize the president as a radical and vote in lock-step against him on every initiative. No matter how watered down the policies, and how many progressive principles and programs are dumped overboard, the wingers foam at the mouth, get concessions, and then end up voting No. And support for the adminsitration continues to ebb. So what is getting accomplished here?

Mr President, your lame centrist policies and constant sops to the Right are not what the country desperately needs, and they will never result in the Right hating you less. You end up with ineffective policies not up to the moment, and losing ground politically - not so much with progressives as with Independents. Contrary to the CW, Indy's are not centrists and moderates - they are pragmatic and results-oriented, and respect a president who shows strong commitment to a set of values, be they right or left. Ronald Reagan was on the worng side of the majority of Americans on almost every issue - and yet he won Indies and more than a few democrats because he stuck to his principles and defended them vigorously. Will you ever get that, Mr President? Tell your political team and Rahm Emanuel to stfu, and do what you know is right for the country at this moment in history. And for God's sake, don't ever act on anything because you're afraid the right will say bad things about you.

Dump the corporate Wall St toads in your admin, and get some progressives back on your economics team. Show Summers, Timmy, and Rahm the door, and recruit a new team. Bring back Romer, bring back Van Jones, and appoint some people committed to providing some counter-balancing antidote to this 30 year long experiment in free-market theivery. And tell Fox News to kiss your radical black ***.

Arne | August 5, 2010 7:36 PM "

I'm a little confused...LOL... if they want socialism, and not a free capitalism republic, why don't they just move? Seriously!

The Trouble With Unconstitutional Wars

The Trouble With Unconstitutional Wars
By Ron Paul

8-03-10

Our foreign policy was in the spotlight last week, which is exactly where it should be. Almost two years ago many voters elected someone they thought would lead us to a more peaceful, rational co-existence with other countries. However, while attention has been focused on the administration's disastrous economic policies, its equally disastrous foreign policies have exacerbated our problems overseas. Especially in times of economic crisis, we cannot afford to ignore costly foreign policy mistakes. That's why it is important that U.S. foreign policy receive some much needed attention in the media, as it did last week with the leaked documents scandal.

Many are saying that the Wikileaks documents tell us nothing new. In some ways this is true. Most Americans knew that we have been fighting losing battles. These documents show just how bad it really is. The revelation that Pakistani intelligence is assisting the people we are bombing in Afghanistan shows the quality of friends we are making with our foreign policy. This kind of thing supports points that Rep. Dennis Kucinich and I tried to make on the House floor last week with a privileged resolution that would have directed the administration to remove troops from Pakistan pursuant to the War Powers Resolution.

We are not at war with Pakistan. Congress has made no declaration of war. (Actually, we made no declaration of war on Iraq or Afghanistan either, but that is another matter.) Yet we have troops in Pakistan engaging in hostile activities, conducting drone attacks and killing people. We sometimes manage to kill someone who has been identified as an enemy, yet we also kill about 10 civilians for every 1 of those. Pakistani civilians are angered by this, yet their leadership is mollified by our billions in bribe money. We just passed an appropriations bill that will send another $7.5 billion to Pakistan. One wonders how much of this money will end up helping the Taliban. This whole operation is clearly counter-productive, inappropriate, immoral and every American who values the rule of law should be outraged. Yet these activities are being done so quietly that most Americans, as well as most members of the House, don't even know about them.

We should follow constitutional protocol when going to war. It is there for a reason. If we are legitimately attacked, it is the job of Congress to declare war. We then fight the war, win it and come home. War should be efficient, decisive and rare. However, when Congress shirks its duty and just gives the administration whatever it wants with no real oversight or meaningful debate, wars are never-ending, wasteful, and political. Our so-called wars have become a perpetual drain on our economy and liberty.

The founders knew that heads of state are far too eager to engage in military conflicts. That is why they entrusted the power to go to war with the deliberative body closest to the people -- the Congress. Decisions to go to war need to be supported by the people. War should not be covert or casual. We absolutely should not be paying off leaders of a country while killing their civilians without expecting to create a lot of new problems. This is not what America is supposed to be about.
#############

Article can be found at campaignforliberty.com

Economic Plan for America

From THE SILVER BEAR CAFE

From the article:

Both parties are captured by corporate lobbyists, the military industrial complex and Wall Street. Lobbyists spend $40 billion per year "convincing" politicians that their ideas should be implemented. Politicians DO NOT represent the people. They represent those who give them the most money. Radical earth shattering change is needed to save this country. Incremental steps won't work. We need a leader wielding a sledgehammer.

The Federal Reserve must be audited. It must be a complete audit with nothing off-limits done by the GAO. When the audit reveals that the Federal Reserve has committed crimes against the citizens of the United States, it should be disbanded. The country grew tremendously from 1789 until 1913 without a Federal Reserve. The Treasury can issue the money of the U.S. The money should be backed by hard assets. It would require a basket of hard assets including gold, silver, uranium, oil, natural gas, and agricultural products.

The ideologues in the Republican Party and Democratic Party are not worried about a 3rd Party. They say that there is no way a 3rd Party could create an infrastructure to win in 2012. What they fail to realize is that people are sick and tired of their two party games. The names change, but the game remains the same. Both parties have failed the American people. The American people have failed. It is time to make a stand, before it is too late. 2012 is our last chance.

I believe that Ron Paul and his Campaign For Liberty should break away from the Republican Party and either form a new 3rd Party or just take over the existing Constitution Party structure. The name is right. The ideas are consistent. I would vote for Ron Paul, but he is 72 years old and he may be too diplomatic. We need a bomb thrower. I think we need Chris Christie to take on Washington DC the way he has taken on the Unions and the Democrats in NJ. A Constitution Party ticket of Chris Christie for President and Paul Ryan as VP would be a winnable option. This would be revolutionary. It would require these two men to abandon the corrupt Republican Party and do what is best for the country. Party politics is dying rapidly due to incompetence and corruption. It is time to start over.

BREAKING NEWS!

The last liberal in Texas has died. At the pearly gates, he reportedly told Saint Peter that he would enter heaven only if he could be assured that he'd never encounter Rick Perry there. Saint Peter laughed and told him not to worry, it would never happen. Nonetheless, just as the liberal was checking into his green, solar-paneled penthouse, he looked out his window and saw a guy with a humongous coif of black hair, wearing a Gucci camouflage jumpsuit and carrying a hunting rifle. The guy was pushing some angels around and shouting, "Get out of my way – let me get on down the road."

Well, the liberal raced right back to Saint Pete's office, mad as hell. "You promised me!" he said. "But I just looked out my window and there he was! Rick Perry!

Saint Peter had to chuckle. "That wasn't Rick Perry, "he said. "That was God. He just thinks he's Rick Perry."

NOTE: This is from the Texas Monthly article by none other than Kinky Friedman on page 78 of the August 2010 issue. Like him or not - Kinky will make you laugh. That is; if you have a smidgeon of a sense of humor

I Like Kinky's suggestion: We should refer to the winner of the race for Governor of Texas as the lesser of two boll weevils.

WARNING: This is a joke, it is not a true story – so don't run off & smoke up the search engines trying to debunk it with a myth buster report from snopes or drudge. If you are easily offended, well then I apologize and you should not have read it.

Key cause of AIDS 'off the table'

Key cause of AIDS 'off the table' Bill Bumpas - OneNewsNow - 7/28/2010 6:00:00 AMhttp://www.addthis.com/bookmark.phpvar addthis_pub = 'onenewsnow'; At last week's International AIDS Conference in Vienna, Austria, the Obama administration pledged the support of the U.S. in the global fight against AIDS. But one pro-family activist points out that an important aspect is missing from the undertaking.

Both President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made prerecorded speeches at the close of the conference, committing the nation's dedication to fight the disease. However, one key factor seemed to be absent from the rhetoric, says a prominent pro-family activist.

"It's not a big mystery about what helps cause AIDS, and yet one key portion -- homosexual practice, homosexual sex -- is just off the table," notes Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). "And then we wonder why we can't keep this disease in check."

He compares this issue to the Wizard of Oz or the emperor who has no clothes. "There's a lot of talk about fighting AIDS, but they're not really serious about one of the key causes, which is homosexual behavior," he laments.

Instead, LaBarbera says, President Obama promotes it. He wishes the president would take serious action to combat the disease -- like shutting down homosexual bathhouses.

"Bathhouses are places where men can go practice this dangerous sexual activity in secret," the AFTAH president explains. "They can bring it home. If they're bisexual, they can bring it back to their wife or their girlfriend and be the conduit for AIDS into the heterosexual community."

Based on the fact that the Obama administration has avoided the issue, the pro-family activist concludes that it is politically incorrect to talk about the dangers of homosexual behavior.
