Leave it up to the media to blow something TO says way outta proportion.. I heard what he said about Jessica on the radio, and he was clearly just joking.. But ofcourse now ESPN makes it out to be some kind of fued between Romo and TO.. I find it pretty funny... I also find it funny that as soon as Romo becomes the starting QB for the boys he's seen w/ Carrie Underwood, Brittney Spears, not mention Jessica Simpson..I'm sure he's on cloud 9 right now lol

Yep....he can do no wrong!!!! And since he made mistakes in his past, he can do no right for you..... go figure.

Hello Pot, meet Mr. Kettle!!!

After the cowboy game I laughed pretty hard listening to the ESPN analysts saying the exact same thing that TO said..... it was obvious it was tongue and cheek and it was obvious that TO said it tongue in cheek!!!!!

And some people need to use their brain before they open their mouths. TO had to have known that if he made ANY comment about sweet Ms. Daisy it would be spun and printed all over the planet. This is where TO becomes a liability. It is what it is (media spin) and it aint changing. He needs to be smart enough to stay out of those traps. I agree what he said was harmless. That being said he should have avoided the subject. If he wants to be funny and joke about it, do it with his teammates. Not malicious but certainly not smart.

well i honestly can't see Romo taking any offense to the comments.. i'm sure he got a laugh outta of it too.. But did anyone else hear Patrick Crayton's comments about it?? I doubt it!! He actually talked about the "jinx" or w/e u want to call it after the game in the locker room, but who cares about him anyway??jk.. but I do agree, it is TO and everything he says or does someones ready to make a story of it.. I was just bothered by the fact that the guys on ESPN were talking about how its going to affect Romo and TO's relationship and will it cause any distractions.. and it really isn't that big of a deal!!

Hello Pot, meet Mr. Kettle!!!

good point

IRVING, Texas - Terrell Owens wants Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson and the rest of the free world to know:

He was joking.

The Cowboys' star receiver has come to realize over 13 NFL seasons that he's often a 6-foot-3, 220-pound lightning rod. Anything he says can be used against him in the court of public opinion.

Such was the case Wednesday when Owens' lighthearted remarks that celebrity singer/actress Jessica Simpson was "not a fan favorite in this locker room or in Texas Stadium" created a national buzz on the heels of last Sunday's 10-6 loss to Philadelphia.

Simpson, who was been linked to Romo, watched from a Texas Stadium suite while the Cowboys quarterback threw three interceptions and posted a season-low 22.2 passer rating. Some fans feared Simpson might be diverting Romo's focus from football, despite the fact that she attended two previous home wins in which the Cowboys scored a combined 71 points. Owens' comments inadvertently fueled that speculation.

He said he spoke to Romo on Wednesday night, offering an apology to Simpson, and chalked up the nation-wide reaction as yet another example of the media editorializing his remarks.

"I don't think he took it serious," Owens said of Romo's reaction. "I guess the way it came across in the media was that I wasn't joking. But everybody here was laughing and just trying to have fun with it.

"We lost the game last week. She did what she had to do as far as being there in support of Tony. Other than that, she doesn't run any routes, she doesn't throw any balls, she doesn't catch any balls."

Owens tied a season low with two catches for 37 yards in last Sunday's loss. He emphasized the team's struggles simply were a result of not being "in sync."

"The way we played, I don't really think it had anything to do with Jessica," Owens said. "Everybody else made that report and I think everybody just jumped on the bandwagon. If the media was here throughout the week of practice last week, there were some things that kind of showed. Some of the things that happened in practice were some of the things that happened in the game. We just weren't in sync. We just had a bad game."

Asked about Simpson's reaction, Owens said, "I guess she was kind of upset about it. I just told him (Romo) I'd do whatever I can to try to rectify the situation.

"I guess I should've been careful with what I had to say, but now I guess they're trying to create some dissension within the locker room and maybe between Tony and I. But I don't think that's going to happen," he continued, smiling. "We're 12-2. There's nothing really to be down about."

When I first read the remark in print, the story stated that TO had made the comment in jest. This is really ridiculous.

I think the appropriate reaction from Jessica would be to go to the next Cowboys home game, sit in the exact same seat, and wear a pink jersey with TO's number on it.
