Wow!! No Liberty-Eylau kids on all region team. I thought Tra Carson would make it for sure. He was dominate during the playoffs, and was a major factor in LE making it to the region finals.

If that was your BIG pg I agree but I only saw one game. Yes he was PG and was solid in every playoff game. I hate that he was overlooked. He is a Jr so maybe next year will be "HIS" year.Congrats to Jordan Schmid of Van. He had a great year. Congrats to all who did make it. Great job!! -------------------- Every Game is a BIG game!!

Congrats to all the All-Region and All-State kids. I know there are many deserving players out there whose coach is not a member of TABC. .... Dang shame.

Well, their coach may not be a member of the TABC. If coaches aren't members of TABC, then their players aren't eligible for the all-region/all-state teams. It's a shame, too, because their are some good players on teams whose coaches won't become a member for one reason or another. |

Many coaches won't join TABC or let their memberhship drop because of all the politics involved in selecting these all-region and all-state teams. I'm not saying that any player selected was not deserving of their spot on one of the teams. I can remember when I was still coaching, we had a coach who was one of the regional directors of TABC in the district that my school was in. His son was only selected as honorable mention on the All-District team but the kid ended second team TABC all-region. Now, explain that. This was purely political because the kid's father was a coach and a regional director of TABC. For that reason, I stopped paying dues and joining TABC. I had two kids that year who were first-team all-district selections and did not get mentioned on the all-region team. We went three rounds deep in the playoffs and players on teams who didn't make the playoffs got on all-regon teams ahead of my players. This was a crock and I told TABC that it was.
I would love to know how many coaches sons are on those all-region and all-state teams and how many of their fathers are TABC directors. I would also like to know how many more deserving players were left off these teams so that coaches sons could be on them. |

I would also like to know how many more deserving players were left off these teams so that coaches sons could be on them. There is alot of politics involved and coaches picking there own kids etc. (team) I have helped with the selection process while in Ft. Worth for the TABC. It is mostly politics. I don't think it will ever change. Those that choose sometimes never have seen some kids they pick play. They simple ask there coach. But 90% of those chosen do deserve to be chosen. And some do get left off do to politics etc. But I think the TABC is a good thing and not all will ever be happy. Just like in the selection process in the NCAA tournament. And by the way I did not nominate from my team this season. No one deserved to be on it from Big Sandy. No sour grapes here. -------------------- Thank you,

I'm not criticizing your players at all. But, I personally don't understand why players from teams that don't make the playoffs should be left off the team if their talent warrants making it. I never have liked the process of it. -------------------- Mark 11:23

It's a shame, too, because their are some good players on teams whose coaches won't become a member for one reason or another. I don't think that is totally accurate. I don't believe any coach from LE is a member of TABC but the girls had 3 players named all-state and all-region. I might be wrong about our coaches and if I am please someone correct me, but I am pretty sure I am right. Plus, I can't believe that a team that played for the regional title didn't get at least ONE player picked. At the very least, Tra Carson should have been all-region from his performances in the playoffs alone. But big CONGRATS to all the boys that did get picked! -------------------- K.A.L.E.!! If a player is selected to the TABC All-Region or All-State team, then the coach is a member of TABC.
