You can send Whitehouse AD/Football Coach Randy McFarlin and his family a message by visiting CaringBridge.org . Type in "RandyMcFarlin" with no spaces and that should take you to his section.

I received a text from Reno Moore on the McFarlin family. He told me Carolyn was finally released from Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview on Wednesday and she's been with Randy in ICU at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

According to Coach Moore, Coach McFarlin is progressing and improving.

He also said the family appreciates all the prayers from anyone and everyone.

(Updated Monday, 11:30pm)

Whitehouse AD/Football Coach Randy McFarlin remains in critical condition in ICU at East Texas Medical Center after being involved in a head-on collision on Sunday evening just north of Longview.

McFarlin, who was driving back from Daingerfield to Whitehouse when the accident occurred, was airlifted from the scene of the accident.

Former Whitehouse offensive coordinator Reno Moore was in East Texas on Monday and told Smoaky.com on Monday evening, "Coach Mac still has a battle in front of him, but we're all very fortunate he and his family are okay."

Moore, who visited Coach McFarlin at ETMC also visited with Coach McFarlin's wife, Carolyn, who will remain at Good Shepherd Medical Center for at least another night with soreness from broken ribs.

Coach McFarlin, his wife, their son Craig and his fiancee' were involved in the head-on collision on Sunday. Coach Moore told Smoaky.com that Craig's fiancee' was shaken up but okay and Craig was suffering from a concussion.

(Updated Sunday, 11:35pm)

Whitehouse AD/Football Coach Randy McFarlin, his wife, son, and son's fiancee' were in a head-on collision on their way home from Daingerfield to Whitehouse on Sunday.

McFarlin's wife Carolyn, his son Craig and his fiancee' were taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, but Coach McFarlin was air-lifted to ETMC in Tyler with a ruptured spleen and additional injuries.

Former Whitehouse assistant coach Reno Moore has updated me throughout the evening and asked that I try and keep everyone updated with some of the details.

Moore also told me Coach McFarlin's injuries were serious, but not life-threatening at this time.

Coach Moore's wife spoke with Carolyn McFarlin on Sunday night and she was doing okay but they wanted her to remain overnight at Good Shepherd.

Obviously, this is a difficult situation with more details to come and everyone is praying for all involved.

I was told Carolyn is in Longview at Good Shepherd and Coach McFarlin is in Tyler in surgery.

We are praying and spreading the word as quickly as possible.

Does anyone know where the accident took place? Because we passed a bad wreck on 155 West of Gilmer about 4:20 coming back to Whitehouse from Daingerfield.

I understand Coach McFarlin was in Daingerfield attending a memorial service.

Hello all,
I am a very close family friend of the Mcfarlin's and have been given permisson to speak on their behalf. They would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers and concerns. However at this time they would appreciate all known info about this unfortunate accident to remain private and ask that no more personal infromation be posted at this time especially FALSE infromation. Again they appreciate the prayers and would like to let everyone know they are fine. I would hope that everyone would respect their wishes at this time as they still need their privacy while dealing with everything
Thank you
Stay blessed

Wow! Prayers from my family to our friends. Haven't talked them much since they moved to Whitehouse but they hold a special place in our lives. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery from Nick and Kelley Alexander and family.
