I think his fastball has been hurt by him trying to find other pitches. A little more than avg. fastball and a changeup or cutter that can lead to hurt necks just doesn't seem to fit in our starting lineup. I hope his fastball gets over the low 90's it is in right now, but I don't think he will get much more out of it while trying to find the plate and location of his other pitches.

I didn't know how to feel about CJ moving into a starters role at the time- but I know I loved that he asked for just one chance to prove to Wash and the Rangers he could be a starter!! I just really love the stories of the underdog or someone that just needs one chance to make their chance a dream. I really do like Feliz and his story. He belongs on the mound.................I just hope he grabs the moment and takes full advantage of it.

I hope he does. His secondary stuff is the only thing that worries me. If Greg Maddux can teach him 5% of what he knows Neftali will be a Cy Young winner before he is 30.

I don't feel good about Feliz as a starter. He walks too many batters.

If Feliz only walks 2 guys every 7 innings, he will have a great year.

First time around the rotation and Texas is the 2nd best pitching staff. I know its early and won't last, but it looks good right now.

I don't know if he will or not, but I'm still scratching my head over this Joe Nathan signing. Feliz was nails as a closer last year, so I don't see the point in making the change. We should've spent the money signing a good starter or save it for future contract extensions. So far, Nathan isn't looking too hot to me.

Feliz or Ogando will end up as the closer by the All Star break, unless the Rangers orchestrate a trade.

Feliz wants to be a starter and he'll work his tail off to stay in the rotation. The 2 losses so far are directly on Nathan, I would put Ogando back there. He just has nasty stuff, if he has the mentality to be a closer then he should be back there.
Without sports evolution would be a theory!

Nathan may wind up out of a job sooner than the All Star break. Bad spring continues.

If Feliz can continue doing what he did the other night, he best services the Rangers as a starter. Good starting pitching is much harder to find than a closer. Feliz as a closer(world series) has always scared me and been anything but automatic with his lack of pitches. Obviously though you could see that he has worked on his change up as it was deadly. I know it's early but for now from what I've seen Feliz best serves the rangers in the starter role. Make Ogando the setup man and Adams the closer. Either are capable.

I like Nathan, but if he isn't performing they will have to make a move at some point and I think Ogando would fit in nicely as a closer, leaving Adams as your setup guy

Ogando and Adams get the last 2 save opportunities after Nathan blew a second save. The writing is on the wall.

Nathan tried to give that one away. Adams should be the closer from now on out

I wouldn't mind seeing Ogando close either. Can't go wrong with Ogando or Adams.

Alexi could be an old school 2 inning type closer. How long do you wait for Nathan to get back to normal?

.
Relax guys, the season is one week old. Nathan will be fine, or he won't. Anyone who claims to know either way at this point needs a Valium. You can pull a hammy or hurt a knee jumping on and off the bandwagon. I personally think he will be fine, but have misplaced my crystal ball. Nathan certainly has a track record over the last 8 years or so of being second only to Mo of the Yanks. He has 3 saves and the leader currently has 4.
.
I am happy to see Ross have success. He looks like a 13 year old and the image of him with the hat, pistols and backpack opening weekend makes you pull for him.
