I have no dog in this fight (pun not intended) but how is Carthage ranked below PG? The 2 teams have split thus far and carthage's only other loss is to 4A #10 Hallsville? #pollsmakenosense

I'm not saying PG is better, but who won the last meeting? It makes sense to me unless you're going to tie them.

this is just how my mind thinks;

the two teams split so obviously they are pretty equal; in my mind the next logical thing to look at is IF they have lost other games, who were those games too; In Carthage's case that other loss is to a ranked 4A team, in PG's case those other losses are to Kilgore and Spring Hill; in simply my opinion Carthage's other loss looks better than PG's other losses so in my mind that is the "tie-breaker"

It the shoe were on the other foot, I'd use the same logic.
Still too many variables to tell, especially in baseball.
If you look at who beat whom, and by how much, and used just that, the logic would break down soon.
It all boils down to gameday everytime.
It Really comes down to who will advance when the post district play begins.
Polls and rankings are very subjective, based on nimbers that 'appear' to be subjective, but really aren't.

Looking forwardto the possibility of another Dawg / Hawk match-up in May.

futfan I completely agree, if PG and Carthage were flip-flopped and PG only had the loss to hallsville and Carthage had losses to Spring Hill and Kilgore I'd be asking why is PG not ahead of Carthage?

What category or discussion was that? I just saw the reference to the coach's poll.

It's on the home page. Updated earlier today.
I once had an intelligent conversation with a guy who used the phrase "just sayin"....Who am I kidding. That could never happen.
