Its looking like Marshall will be the number 1 seed.

Number 2 seed is still up in the air between MP, T-High and potentially Hallsville and PT (if they win out and the previous lose out).

I think the district finishes up as this:

1) Marshall

2) MP

3) T-High

4) Hallsville

I am not sure what the playoffs will be because I don't know the district records of: Wylie, Wylie East, Lucas Lovejoy, Dennison, Greenville, Sherman, McKinney North and Royse City.

Lovejoy is in first place entering tonight at 18-8 and is 12-0 in district (undefeated like its football team was).

McKinney North is in second place now at 17-9 and is 9-3 in district

Wylie is in third place at 12-18 and is 8-4 in district after starting the season 0-8 and winning only one of its first 13

Royse City is in a tie for fourth place at 19-12 and is 6-6 in district

Sherman is in a tie for fourth place at 12-16 and is 6-6 in district (split w/ Royse City winning at each other's gym)

Greenville is in sixth place at 15-15 and 4-8 in district

Wylie East is in seventh place at 3-24 and 2-10 in district

Denison is in last place at 5-22 and 1-11 in district (only win is against Greenville)

Tonight's schedule is Greenville at Royse City; Denison at Wylie East; Wylie at Lovejoy; McKinney North at Sherman

Tuesday's schedule is Sherman at Denison; Wiley East at Wylie; Royse City at McKinney North; Lovejoy at Greenville;

Projections: Lovejoy wins out to 14-0; McKinney North beats both third-place teams to go to 11-3; Wylie splits its final two to finish at 9-5; Royse City splits and finishes 7-7; Sherman splits and finishes at 7-7; Greenville finishes 4-10; Wylie East splits and goes 3-11 and Denison finishes at 1-13; Royse City and Sherman meet in a win-or-go home game with Sherman winning.

14-4A Projections: Marshall 9-1; Mount Pleasant 7-3; Texas High 6-4; Hallsville 3-7; Pine Tree 3-7; S. Springs 2-8

Hallsville and Pine Tree meet in a win-or-go home game with Hallsville winning.

Overall: Lovejoy vs. Hallsville (football rematch); McKinney North vs. Texas High; Wylie vs. Mount Pleasant; Marshall vs. Sherman

Final Girls Standings

Texas High 25-3, 9-1

Mount Pleasant 21-6, 8-2

Sulphur Springs 23-11, 6-4

Pine Tree 17-11, 5-5

Hallsville 11-19, 2-8

Marshall 2-25, 0-10

BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

Texas High Vs. Wylie

Mt. Pleasant Vs. Lucas Lovejoy

Sherman beat Sulphur Springs 63-44

Mckinney North beat Pine Tree 78-26

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Boys Standings

Marshall 24-8, 8-1

Mount Pleasant 18-12, 5-4

Texas High 14-13, 5-4

Hallsville 12-17, 4-5

Pine Tree 11-19, 4-5

Sulphur Springs 7-25, 1-8

Tonight's regular season finales

Marshall Vs. Sulphur Springs (meaningless game for both.  Marshall has clinched the title.  SS has been eliminated)

Texas High Vs. Hallsville- Huge game for both.  Tex high clinches with a win, but a loss could make things messy depending on the MP/PT game

Pine Tree Vs. Mt. Pleasant- Also a huge game.  A MP win clinches for the tigers.  A PT win coupled with the Tex/Hallsville game could make for some tie breaking for the district

T-High and MP both won last night. MP and T-High wrap up 2nd and 3rd in District 14-4A while Hallsville and PT will have to square off to see who takes the 4th spot.

Anyone know the playoff matchups?? I know there were a couple of Lovejoy scouts in the stands at MP last night.

Lovejoy actually lost to Wylie to lose undefeated status and no matter the outcome of Tuesday will be first and play the winner of Hallsville-Pine Tree. The two split during the regular season and will have to play a fourth-place play-in game later this week.

McKinney North finished in second place and is currently 19-9 overall and was 11-3 in district play.

Wylie finished in third place no matter the outcome of Tuesday's game against rival Wylie East at 13-18 and 9-4 in district play.

McKinney North would face the third-place team from District 14-4A, while Wylie would face the second-place team from 14-4A.

This district also has a fourth-place play-in game between Royse City and Sherman at a time, date and location to be determined.

14-4A standings: Marshall 9-1; Mount Pleasant 6-4; Texas High 6-4; Hallsville 4-6; Pine Tree 4-6; Sulphur Springs 1-9.

Lovejoy scouts were at Mount Pleasant to scout Pine Tree, so all in all, not one of the four games is definite until the end of the wk.

Prediction: Lovejoy vs. Hallsville (football rematch); McKinney North vs. T. High; Wylie vs. Mount Pleasant; Marshall vs. Sherman

Lovejoy 19-7, 13-1 champion

McKinney North 19-9, 11-3 runner-up

Wylie 12-18, 10-4 #3 seed

Royse City 17-14, 7-7

Sherman 13-17, 7-7

Greenville 11-17, 4-10

Wylie East 4-25, 3-11

Denison 3-22, 1-13

I was told Mount Pleasant got the No. 2 seed behind Marshall, so I don't know if they already had a pre-determined coin flip or not.

no flip... district tie breaker rules... first was head to head (split)...next was how they did against district champ...MP (1-1) THS (0-2)

Dont know about McKinney North, but any 2nd place team out of that district will be solid... Definitely dont know about t-high potential???... very undersized... no real threat inside... very average guard play... IMO they have done a lot this season with very little... credit kids hustle and effort and coaching...

MP Tigers fall to Wylie by a score of 53-50 in Bi-District action. The Tigers were down by as much as 17 at one point and clawed back to within 1 pt inside of 1 minute to go. Great heart displayed by the Tigers in the 4th quarter!

Hallsville Bobcats fall to Lovejoy by 22pts (don't know the actual score.)

Haven't heard about T-High or Marshall.....anyone got it?

Marshall lost to Sherman by 2....

14-4A hasn't had the best year....0-12 in playoffs for combined sports.

GL to JT and Jax, as I understand they were the lone survivors of their 1st round matchups from 16-4A.

year in and year out it is tough for the NE TX teams to compete with the Metroplex... think people are way to eager to point fingers at coaches, when reality is, the athletes or depth is in the Dallas area... However, I am surprised with the lack of success/competitiveness out of some of the "1" seeds... Obviously Marshall lost a close, competitive game..... Just expect a little more from some of these 1-4 matchups across the board in all sports...
