Wait till next year? That's what we said LAST YEAR! It's so bad that Hicks doesn't even bother coming out except when there is a public relations event or when Millwood is pitching and even then, that is rare. He needs to sell the team to somebody who is not afraid to gamble on gettting pitching.

Signing Chan Ho Park, Kevin Millwood & Vicente Pidalla were not gambles ???
At the time, all three seemed liked solid acquisitions – based on their prior success. BE PATIENT -- the Rangers have pitching in their Minor League system ... LET IT DEVELOP. (directed to all chronic Rangers shooting-fish-in-a-barrel bashers): Next time, come in here with NAMES of pitchers the Rangers should throw money in the direction of .......... simply saying, (paraphrased) "the Rangers need pitching" takes little effort !! -------------------- |

Well put, Cheapy.

Beginning Sunday evening, I go into my yearly two-week depression. I love the postseason in October, but I sure do miss the regular season. I miss watching my beloved Rangers every night. And when the entire season does finally end, it's like watching your friends leave for the entire winter. Cheaptrick, could you post A. Bartlett Giamatti's beautiful quote on the ending of the baseball season? I'm a grown man, and that one still makes me tear up.

Rangers win their last home game of the 2008 campaign with a 14-4 victory over the A's today at the Ballpark In Arlington.
Matt Harrison gets his 9th win of the year. An 8-run sixth blew it open for Texas. -------------------- "The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. I will certainly check out the Bill James post, Cheapy. Great way for the Rangers to close out the home portion of the schedule. Blalock, Hamilton, and the Great Young save the best for last, putting on an offensive show. And I've got a lot of hope for young Harrison. Possibly a future Rogers/Glavine type of hurler?
