I know it is too late for this year, but are there any other Pee Wee Football leagues for someone in the Tyler area other than Pop Warner? We have not been impressed with PW, and the only other thing I know of is Upward Flag. I heard there was a Whitehouse team, but wasn't sure if it was PW or not. Thanks!

Whitehouse is in an independent league. Pop Warner of Tyler is poorly run and officiated. The Tyler Lions are in the same league as Whitehouse, Arp, Troup, Brownsboro and so on. It is a much better league. It is however unlimited weight!

Thanks for the info, and I could not agree more about PW. Btw, I'm sorry you couldn't make a go of it with the Rams - we played with them last year and were very impressed with the attitudes and heart of the coaches. I haven't seen that at all with the other PW teams, which is very unfortunate. We'll check out that other league next year if our son is still interested in playing.

My first year in Tyler PW and needless to say its the biggest joke i've ever been associated with. cursing kids and coaches. worst officials ever. and officials who don't even know rules associated with pw. Games are scheduled to certain teams favor! ITS A BIG JOKE!

Yes, this is true. The degree of its truth depends on which team you are playing against on that given Saturday. That said, there are a number of good people associated with East Texas Pop Warner. The reason my son plays Pop Warner is because I have scouted all of the rural leagues (Lil Cypress, Tri-County, Greater East Texas, Longview Parks & Recreation) and there is no doubt that Pop Warner in Tyler has a larger number of top notch young athletes (read- speed) and is more physical than any of the other leagues. If that was not the case, I would have my son in the league that I felt like was the best. I know many others that put up with the problems Pop Warner has for the same reason. Just my .02.
