So whats the update on the 2A and 3A Bands? Who's better this year, and which 2A's do you think will progress on even after Region on Wednesday?

Wills Point was great @ the Mesquite Marching Contest 2 weeks ago. First time Ive seen Crandall in 3 years and they have grown in size and march very well. Canton seems to always do great, but could have done better.

Union Grove High School sweeped the Yamboree Marching Contest as we won all awards available to a 2a school.

Today was the Yamboree Marching Contest at in Class AA, Union Grove took it all home winning everything available for AA (Best in Show, Best in AA, Best Drum Majors, Best Majorette & Flag Line); if they perform Wednesday at MPHS at Area, like they did today at the Yamboree, UG will definately be marching at the State contest in November!

Take notice that Union Grove won the whole thing in the 2A area, but their major competition White Oak didn't compete in the marching contest because they went to the contest last Saturday.

I have seen White Oak march, and they are good. If you look at both drills, UG is doing something that no other military band around is doing. We had a standing ovation half way through our routine and at the end of the drill the crowd went insane. White Oak's drill is very good, but it has a lot of similaritiesto what the other bands around here are doing.

This is true, we did not compete in the Yamboree contest and are really bummed about it, as it is a good practice for UIL. I congradulate Katie and Grace on their awards won, and Kudos to the band, but I do believe if we would have participated, they wouldn't have won all that they did.

2. Anauhac
3. White Oak
4. Union Grove

In the preliminaries, UG was ranked 2nd. There were a few small mistakes in the finals that dropped us down a little bit. One way or the other, all of it will be settled next week in San Antonio.

Yup, but the final rankings right now are what we are all going to go by. Great judging and fair all around. In times like these there's no room for error.
