With the New Boston and Mt Vernon numbers, 16AAA could be looking for two more members, definitely New Boston will be back to AA.

Looks like John Tyler will be dropping down to 4A next year. And if the cutoff goes up any at all Longview will stay 4A. 4A could be exremely powerful in East Texas next year.

I wouldn't doubt it, but do you think it will be approved? Longview is 30mins away, Marshall is an hour, and Whitehouse is just outside of Tyler. I don't see JT staying in 5A.

I will never predict what the UIL would approve. I've learned my lesson with that.
But they definitely have a better case than we did.

The 1a numbers will be 200 or 205 mark my word...and that spells trouble for a lot of these 1a's that will be in rebuilding mood during the 2010 season...Uil needs to leave the numbers right where they are....BUT OF COURSE THEY WONT!!!!

Longview increased from 2005 to 2086.5. JT dropped from 2135 to 2048. Henderson (985 to 879) is very likely to drop to 3A. And Tatum (443 to 432) - back to 2A?

That could possibly put Gilmer in 16-3A.

Henderson

Smoaky is out of pocket for the moment, but he wanted to clarify that YES John Tyler does in fact have the option of moving up as they are from a multi-school district. However, he has spoken with T.I.S.D. Athletic Director Danny Long and there appears to be no interest in John Tyler opting up to 5-A.

I have to agree with you, I think 3a will be above the 1000 mark given the past history on how much they have increase from each reallignment.
Also, it looks like Kilgore and Henderson would drop to 3a. I think they would move into the 173a district and Gilmer would move north to take New Boston's spot who looks like it will drop to 2a. Either way, 3a in east Texas just got a lot stronger.
