today was Tenaha's homecoming. In a town of 1000 people homecoming is great cause you know everybody....you know?
got to see an old buddy of mine. he's in the navy. eight years in. i don't know his exact rank but he is pretty high up. He is a medic for the marines and #### good at his job. Actually he is stone cold as far as doing his job. Supposedly one of the best.
He has been to Iraq 4 times.......4 times. He's on the front lines cause he is a battlefied medic for the marines and the best of the best
We talked and he admitted to me he cant count how many people he has killed. he can't count how many friends he couldn't save.
He really needs prayers.
He don't want to go back but at the same time....he's a patriot and a soldier. very conflicted.
In my opinion I hope he don't ever have to go back, he has been through enough.
But he has a skill set that our troops need and he is very good at doing what he does. i'm conflicted over it too. Scared he might die or have to experience too much. their is only so much "war" a guy can take before his mind cant take it anymore.
then I started thinking...how many more guys their are just like him. How many kids have been over there 3 or 4 times? how much is too much before you begin to lose touch with humanity? how long does it take before you just react and become robotic, no thought about your own safety, you do the job?
I hope you pray for him and his family cause as long as they need him he will continue to go back in service of our country. God bless him.
