I finally made my military decision. I am now in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. I go in as an E3 doing Aerospace Medical Services. I leave for basic training January 26. I am very nervous, but at the same time I am very happy with my decision to serve. I pray all goes well, and I ask for your prayers as well. Thank you for all of your support.

Good luck. Going to San Antonio with all those nurses? Not bad duty.

Considering the fact that I am female, I guess I will be considered one of those hot, smart women. whome.gif

I hope you make a difference. Give a relative your PO address, letters from home make a difference. We'll be rooting for you back at home.

lol thanks for the support, Doc. I appreciate it. Once I get my degree, I am going active duty as a military nurse. The reserves is a way I can serve my country and still go to school and further my education to use later in my military career. Maybe then I will make you proud. *Fingers crossed*

wow, doc. could you sound a little more snotty and obnoxious? when she completes school, she will enter active duty and available to be posted to more dangerous duty a la afghanistan or iraq. will she meet your standards then or will she still be subjected to your derision? people serve this country in different ways and it doesn't always mean dangerous duty and she is doing her best. you just took a step down in my regard.

The fact that you made the decision to enlist, REGARDLESS if it's Active duty or Reserves in the Air Force, Army, Navy, or Marines -- is an accomplishment in of itself. It takes a lot of courage to get out there and risk your life for total strangers, and that's something not everyone is willing to do.

If I could join I would; but I can't. no.gif icon_neutral.gif

So for anyone who is or was in the military be it active duty or reserves I take my hat off to you and thank you for your selfless service. thumbsup.gif

Does this make you above anyone else? NO. It takes all kinds of people to make this world go 'round, remember that. Just because you are in the military doesn't mean you are better, but you do serve a VERY important and influential role and again for this country, and for that, again I thank you.

I was only teasin' . Sorry if it was offensive. We tend to give the Army and Air Force a hard time.

jaykay, you are smart, motivated, and have tons of ambition. You will be a great assest to who ever you serve with. Good luck and God Speed.
