End of the 3rd quarter and he has 170 yards on only 18 carries, over 9 yards a carry

Just carving up a good defense in USC. Oregon just punched them in the mouth.

Yeah, what's the story on that? I've heard a lot of people asking how he ended way up there at Oregon and I'm not sure. A basketball coach in Houston area texted me last night asking, "Who is this guy from Texarkana!?"

I imagine most fans in East Texas know who he is, and I imagine before long most fans in the country will know who he is.

Ut never offered James. Ut doesn't seem to want top notch running backs. He would have signed with UT in a heartbeat if they offered.

yea that is it..Texas does not want top RBs..they dont like guys like Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, and Jamal Charles..oh wait they all played with Texas...I love what James is doing, but the simple fact is Texas does not have endless scholarships. they just cant offer EVERYONE who is good in Texas HS football. Great ones will slip thru to other teams all the time

Yea they have a different starter every game. They hardly ever land the best back in the state and they won't this year either. They would rather offer a guy like Jeremy Hills than L. James.

Didn't Traylon Shead and his 8,977 caree yds. #2 overall rushing in the history of Texas High school football. Give his intent to sign with UT.

There were obviously things that the UT recruiters didn't like about LJ. I would be willing to bet that they would change their minds now. Bottom line is that LJ is doing great at the college level and is on tap to break the freshman rushing record at UO. And to think he probably would not have gotten a shot unless Blount didn't pull his stupid stunt.

Took the words right out of my mouth

Coaches re-instated Blount because they wanted to thank him for letting them realize they just put the best talent on the field. notworthy.gif

I think it is still under concideration, but I think they are eventually going to let him come back.

I believe that even if they do reinstate Blout, L.J. should start over him. He has been putting up some good numbers for Oregon. Blout needs to earn that spot back. He can play 2nd string behind L.J. !

Agreed. LJ has earned the starting job. Blount, if they let him come back, should only be allowed spot duty to let LJ have a breather. If he can win his job back, then OK its his. If he can't, thats too bad.
stevosev7
i believe i read somewhere that blount will be reinstated, but coaches are still making him sit out. so basically, they are letting him dress and stand with the team on the sideline...possible play in blowouts.

HOWEVER, don't hold me to this.

It was announced today that LaMichael is the Pac-10 offensive player of the week
RideUmRough07
dang, its pretty cool knowing that I've played against a guy who is having the success that LJ is having...
