CALL TO ACTION: Stop Nationalized Healthcare From Reaching Texas
by Debra Medina on Nov 08, 2009

We Texans face our biggest threat since the New Deal. An overreaching federal government is poised to force itself into our lives in the most invasive and damaging way; into our very well-being. I applaud concerned citizens, caring parents, determined Texans for calling your U.S. Congressmen and Senators and those throughout the country who “ride the fence.” We must continue our pressure on the U.S. Senate to halt this monstrosity. You and I know the appropriate course of action for Congress and the President because we know and understand the constitution and the implications this bill has for our state and our lives. Good medical decisions are made between the doctor and patient, not by the government.

The fact that We Texans have been forced to repeatedly contact our “elected representatives” highlights the lack of leadership in the Republican Party and an ongoing constitutional ignorance or disregard by those elected representatives. We Texans have an absolute right to sovereignty. The tenth amendment provides that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.” We Texans MUST stand up to this invasion of our private medical records, explosive expansion of the national debt and our right to determine our health care decisions.

In the event that Obama/PelosiCare passes the Senate, the State of Texas should refuse to comply through nullification and interposition. Nullification and interposition remain viable, legal alternatives to independence, despite the unwillingness of our current leadership to stand up to Washington and the big money donors who resist any conflict with their buddies in Washington. We are Texans. We are bold and we are going to stand up for our rights.

With our porous borders, we cannot afford yet another incentive for more illegal immigration. Our current federally mandated entitlement programs, which violate our state’s sovereignty every day, serve as a magnet to those in other countries who come to Texas for “freebies”. Do we need a stronger magnet? Our partially federally funded county hospitals bear much of the burden and provide care to illegal immigrants and those who have failed to provide for their own health care needs as it is. Do we Texans want to increase our dependence upon the largess of the federal government? Once Obamacare establishes itself in the state of Texas, ridding ourselves of this burden will become nearly impossible. We Texans must act now to cut this abuse of power off at the knees.

We Texans have a plan of action. I am sending an open letter to Governor Perry, members of the Texas House and Senate and Attorney General Abbott demanding that a special session be called and that legal action be taken in the federal courts. The Medina campaign is already taking proactive steps to protect Texans. We encourage you to contact your state representative and senator and the Governor to encourage them to begin the work necessary to nullify this unconstitutional legislation. Texas will take care of Texans. You can sign up for our updates here http://www.medinafortexas.com/join-us.php. Join us as we reclaim our sovereignty and assert our independence as free people of the United States and Texas.

You know, I was wondering if they were going to say anything about this BEFORE the election. She's made a very good move here... she's forcing Perry and Hutchinson now to make their move.

Ought to get interesting!

Thanks, Hares, for posting!

^ I can only imagine Perry and Hutchinson do not take Medina seriously. I'm looking forward to a debate. Just imagine the mud Perry and Hutchinson will be slinging at each other. I understand the Medina camp is working hard for a debate with the "two".

This needs to be sent to every Senator of the United States. Nationalized Healthcare is a no win infringement on those that can't afford it or do not need it.
