As long as you are not Christian Im tired of PC folks

With all the events in the last week this is unbelievable.

I respectfully disagree with the point of view the Navy has taken, while remaining respectful of the person or persons who are discharging the chaplain.

I'll be praying for this chaplain. This is the dumbest thing that I have heard. This would be unheard of 50 years ago. I wouldn't doubt if the idiots in power, will remove all chaplains and bring in guidance counselors, they already have them in place. This makes me sick at my stomach the day before Veterans Day.

I am not sure that I get all of this. Without taking a side, I am seeing this as a crime of plitical indifference. Does anyone know what the event that he appeared in uniform at was all about? Surely this cannot be this simple, can it?

I would have expected this to have created more noise among politicians, with someone wanting to get the credit for shutting it down, unless there is more to it than what I read.

Chaplains have an obligation to their faiths, and I have seen many uniforms of the Armed Services at many different services. I don't understand a reason for the courtmartial. He wore his uniform to a press conference, and used his First Amendment Rights to use the name of Jesus Christ at a speech.

I don't understand the court martial. Perhaps we need the text of his eulogy or at the press conference. He evidently didn't say anything that would harm national security, otherwise Secretary Rumsfeld wouldn't have defended him. Hopefully, ex-Secretary Rumsfeld will be at the hearing.

heard thid morning: The military breaks down diversity, ie. haircuts, same uniform Then builds up a fighting machine where the men and women can trust each other. If you separte yourself, ie, Muslim first, american second, you need to go. Just like the hyphenated Americans who will not or refuse to assimillate to our society, the overall mission can fail, just like our country is so diverse, lots of folks dont love it anymore.
