This guy is the number one recruit in the nation from what i understand and he is a texan. I have heard he is an absolute monster at DE. Has anyone heard where he is headed to school or has he decided? Has anyone seen him play in person.

Well he has narrowed the teams to Arizona St., Florida, Houston, Oklahoma, UT and USC.
Arizona St. - this is where his dad played ball
Florida - known for turning out great DEs
Houston - this is where dad coaches
Oklahoma - top football program, twin sister recently committed there to play basketball
UT - top football program
USC - family friend Ken Norton Jr. coaches there
I think the only visit he has taken was to Arizona State. I don't see him going to Houston because mom and dad have both stated that it might not be a good thing for father and son to be coach/player. In fact, Jim's father was a principal in high school and sent Jim to a different high school to take pressure off of him.

I would like to see a guy like this at Texas. Seems like the number 1 recruit never wants Texas.

I think he is supposed to visit the 40 acres in two weeks.

I believe it will be either USC or UT.

I sure hope its us. Texas is one of his favorites from what I have heard.

I have heard that he likes OU, but then he is being very secretive overall; the fact that Jacqueline will be at OU might help, but I am not banking on it.
With the departure of Jermaine Gresham, a clear need exists for his services; although he is projected as a DE/TE, his future may be at DE. Either way, OU sure could use him!
Like others, I would love to see him on my team...

I think he is a lean towards florida... But there is a chance he could win up at texas. I would be worried, but Aggie commit Cedric Ogbuehi dominated him when their teams met. I watched the highlights on FSNSW and he was shut down. lol

I'm not denying what you said, but Plano East doesn't have much to go with Jeffcoat. They also play a lot of 3-4 upfront which allows the offenses to double him off the line. It may start as 1 on 1, but there is always another OL or back ready to help. To counter this, Plano East has been twisting the front with Jeffcoat. I've seen him twist from his DE spot around the other two DL and end up at the other side of the formation. I'm sure whichever team he chooses, he will play much better because he will have a surrounding cast of teammates.
Also, I don't think he has given any hints about where he is leaning. All the schools on his list have some sort of obvious advantage with the exception of UT. But UT does have an advantage - it is the closest school to his dad unless he chooses Houston. Wouldn't be surprised if he kept it a secret until signing day.

He is one of Muschamp's recruits along with Jordan Hicks, OLB from Ohio. They are ESPN's #1 and #2 overall prospects in the country. They will both sign with Texas. At this point there is no other program that spits out NFL OLB's and DE's like UT. Jeffcoat will have to improve his strength to compete for a spot but the ability is there. Hicks will get PT as soon as he steps on campus.

I would be shocked if they get either...

Be prepared to be shocked. Hicks told ESPNU that he was not ready to declare but Texas has always been his "dream school". If Muschamp really wants Jeffcoat, and I believe he does, he will sign him. The only way he doesn't come to UT would be his desire for immediate PT. Texas has loaded up on the D line the last two years and he will not walk in to huge minutes unless he has tremendous work ethic. I remeber when Adrian Peterson chose OU over UT he stated that he picked OU because Stoops said he wanted him but didn't have to have him to win. "Big Time" players want the challenge and Texas would best prepare him for the next level. I'll be shocked if he doesn't sign.

I thnin Jeffcoat will be between Texas and OU. I think the sister is a big factor if he goes OU. Hoping he likes what he sees in the Texas defense.

I think he would have to be crazy to not want to play for Will Muschamp. He is an awesome coach and all his players can say about him is how fun he is to play for!

He is a monster, as i would like to see him play TE... He will be a great DE... number one recruit MAY be a little much being his numbers arent great, but his body is in top form right now and is pure dominant, as a UT fan i would love to have him and all. But i personally think Reggie Wilson ( how about that superstar name?!?!) and Alex Okafor will bring better things to the UT table. Wilson has the best stats of a DE right now in HS football.

jackson jeffcoact is definately the best name i've seen in high school football...and with D Lineman, stats don't always tell the story...who can blow up the line and open lanes for blitzing linebackers into the gaps? who can collapse the pocket and force the QB to scramble, resulting in another player getting a sack...tipped ####...QB pressures...things that you don't see in a highschool stat book. i would like to see which defense AS A TEAM has more sacks...jeffcoats or wilsons.

Both are very good athletes from what i have heard and seen. The Cobbs kid from oklahoma is another big name recruit that texas managed to pull in. Should be dominant again in the next couple of years!!
