I had a wreck while I was listening to "I Saw Her Standing There" by the Beatles. It's the only Beatles song I just can't stand now.

The Animals doing House of the Rising Sun or the Rolling Stones Brown Sugar.......still get a charge out of that....but I'm more into gospel and bluegrass now..........side note: Jerry Garcia put out a bluegrass album called the Pizza Tapes. Played bluegrass in his spare time.

There are many songs that I have that bring back memories both good and bad. I try not to dwell on the bad. Crud, just thinking about that brought back a Billy Ocean song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76fE7Pa8A2o. I could list about 20,000+ that would remind me of days gone past. I try not to dwell on those. I like to remember them on occasion, but many times I flip the station that reminds me of something that takes me back to those yesterdays. Sometimes, I'll hear them depending on the mood I'm in.

I like both these renditions. This was the last song that Johnny Cash released, and I made a faux pas in a comment on YouTube. The song that best describes musical memories is this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI0Q8ytD44Y , here's Johnny's last released version of the song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlhcyWLORes

Santeria- Sublime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCqjooCosw0

Reminds me of the best weekend ever. My friends and I were sitting in a high energy martini bar in San Antonio. This song came on, and the place went ape! Music video is pretty funny btw.

Paper Planes Remix- MIA, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent.... NSFW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k277VC8GV34

If there is a problem with this I will remove it. It reminds me of a good friend of mine who was murdered in May. We used to sit and listen to this song back when I worked in retail. It brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

The Eyes of Texas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTw1RTrwITs

Not a Texas fan at all, but there is something about this song, and Deep In the Heart of Texas, that makes me incredibly proud to be from where I am. In fact, I loaded these two songs onto my Ipod play list for when I leave the country, or state.

Las Mulas De Morena- Julion Alvarez http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkrlSkPNFp8

Reminds me of last summer in Puerto Vallarta, and that pretty Mexican girl I listened to music with on the beach. We drank Pepsi, listened to music, laid on beach chairs, watched the moon rise over the mountains, and took a nice stroll down the beach. I am a married man, and nothing happened. We are still friends and email back and forth daily.

You'll Be There - George Strait

Was listening to this song in my car when I found out my grandmother passed away. I couldn't listen to it for a long, long time after that.

Couldn't find a decent video of it so here are the lyrics:

Every time I hear the Beatles song "In My Life" I think of friends and family who are no longer with us. There are too many songs that remind me of the path I have followed in my life to list here. Each song brings a smile to my face every time I hear them.

Listen To The Music by the Doobie Brothers. It was their opening song and my first concert, circa 1976.
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys by Willie Nelson. My brother in law and nephew played and sang this song at my brothers funeral.

Wishes and Dreams (Stellar Kart): Wife and I danced to this at our wedding. I'll never hear that song without thinking of her.

In My Arms (Jon Foreman): Played during my wedding.

Yellow (Coldplay): Inspired me to write my book.

New York, New York (Frank Sinatra): Always a Yankees fan.

The Blues (Switchfoot): Can't really explain it, but will always hold a special place.
