Down 28-0 and you break up a pass and decide to taunt the receiver. That's a real team contribution. Check those transcripts.

Couple of Baylor kids that that were taunting before kickoff as the Longhorns were leaving the field. Both guys were at the 50 jumping up and down yelling with their "horns down" hand sign. Funny thing is neither saw the field unless I just missed it. I even looked for them on the special teams.

The way Baylor looks on the football field the last thing they should be worried about is taunting the opposing team.
This is a coaching issue in my opinion.

I'll never forget years ago watching a colonel in (I think) the 509th bomb group arriving at an air field in the pacific. (Maybe Tinian Island)
He was asked to make a speech and he introduced the bomb group in a few sentences and then said " when we do a little more fighting we'll do a little more talking".
These were MEN dodging real bullets and playing for keeps. When you put it into perspective you realize that you probably should just keep your mouths shut and go back to the huddle. Your playing a simple game. If you do something good on the field everyone will notice it anyway.

"When you do a little more winning, You can do a little more talking"

Funny, the real winners don't even talk then. They let there actions on the field speak loud and clear.

I guess I'll speak up as one of the rare Baylor fans in these parts.

First, I agree. It's ridiculous and hurts the team.

But, EVERY team has players that do this whether on the field or from the sidelines. This is a human problem, not just a Baylor problem. Wish this were not the case with sports, but no team (or its fans) can point the finger at others. It may be partly a coaching issue, but if you think your team doesn't have its characters doing this sort of thing, or worse, you're just naive.

Or should I pull up stories of players driving into apartment buildings while supposedly texting, players getting paid at car dealerships for work not done, players masturbating in their car on campus, players breaking into apartments to get their TVs back, etc. So, yeah, it was bad form and hopefully will be dealt with but your favorite team's not above it, either. And if we're honest with ourselves, we are all capable of this and worse under the wrong circumstances.

To be honest, I kind of wonder why anyone even needed to start this thread in the first place. But I guess we all feel better at times when we can point out the faults in others.

Oh, and "Beat Navy" apply that transcript standard to your own school before you start tossing that stone at others. Baylor historically has had one of the highest, if not the highest, graduation rates in the Big 12 for its scholarship athletes.

Good post. I did not intend to imply that Baylor has discipline problems. I was just pointing out the two Bears talking the smack prior to the game with their "horns down" hand signs didn't even play. The last thing the Bears needed was for Texas to get fired up for this game, and quite frankly, I don't think any UT players paid any attention to the two Bears at the 50 yard line. I'm just not a fan of the taunting at any level. And the DB that got the taunting penalty should have celebrated with fellow green jerseys. If so there would be no flag, and I wouldn't have had to listen to all the Baylor fans around me shouting that the game was fixed. LOL! I'd love to see the Bears jump on A&M next week. They, Baylor, are actually the only other BIG XII team I root for.

PS - It was nice to see other Baylor athletes honored at the game. Baylor has an amazing 4 x 400 meter relay team (indoor or outdoor), and their men's tennis team also did very well. Nice "shot" thrown in by the announcer that the tennis team beat UT. LOL!
