Just wondering am I wrong to think that bands should play to the home crowd ecen during play offs ?
Might just be my pet peave but I think that it is really rude for a band to play to the visitors side at anytime . Let me hear what you think ???

This topic comes around every year at this time. Some folks get really upset when a band doesn't play to the home side. I don't of anybody that gets upset when the band plays to the side that pays the bills.

I've seen it done both ways. Consider this - the band plays to the home side for 10 games. Why not play to your own folks in the play-offs? The seniors in band are doing their last performances of their high school careers. Let 'em play to the people who invested in them!

In the playoffs, most people in general don't care about the other band anyway. The band should play to their own crowd.

Play to the folks who brought you...especially if you are doing something different for the playoffs.

Well, just an insider viewpoint, the bands have for the most part during regular season performed to the home side. It is considered somewhat to be a tradition during playoffs to play to your crowd since this is your school, your fan base, your team, the potential "last game" for the seniors and the season. Check out the "halftime performance", sometimes it is a form of a dedication to the crowd.
Sorry that some might feel that the entire halftime should be performed only to the home side. Just try to remember that the bands sometime want to give back to their community and this is one great way of doing it!

For half the season, the band parents and fans have seen the back of the band.
Playoffs are on a neutral field, so I think if anyone should be offended, it is not the home team. The 'Home team' is a visitor that happens to sit on the side with the press box. I hated having to go all the way around to watch the halftime show.
I would be in complete understanding if some really good band, Like Argyle of Canton would want to perform to their side, and I would have to watch the back. It's their Seniors, their band.

Wow did not expect such a big response and you all have convinced me, for play offs they should play to there own crowd as most games are in a nuetral stadium and the seniors could have there last game at any time . I do however think during reguler season the etiqutte of playing to the home side is right . I personally like seeing the other bands show. For those of you all in play offs good luck !!
