Full Version: Will Gary Patterson Leave TCU

With the season Patterson is having and in my opinion his body of work at TCU, will Patterson leave for a more high profile position?

Here is my view. Patterson could leave and have instant financial security for his family by going to ND, Michigan, or A&M. But he could go 6-6 at TCU for the next 10 years and collect a nice paycheck.

As evidenced last Saturday, TCU has an issue with national exposure. The are "Game Day", but you could not see the game.

I got a funny feeling Weis has one more year at ND and Michigan will give Rich Rod another year as long as they dont get embarassed by Ohio St sat. Sherman will be at A&M at least 2 more years regardless of his record. They like the direction he is going in recruiting and the way the players respond to him...

I dont think Patterson leaves anytime soon. I would like to see him be the next guy at Tech when Leach leaves for the West Coast...Its going to happen eventually.

Maybe he'll take a cue from Coach Fran and stay.

I would rather see Baylor dropped and TCU added in their place. I would like to see Iowa State dropped and Univ. of Houston added. After that, I would like to see the North and South re-aligned:

SOUTH:

1. Texas
2. Texas A&M
3. Texas Tech
4. Texas Christian Univ.
5. Univ. of Houston
6. Colorado

NORTH:

1. Oklahoma
2. Oklahoma State
3. Nebraska
4. Missouri
5. Kansas
6. Kansas State

He has been head coach at TCU since 2001 and in Fort Worth since 1998. He makes at least $1.8 million at TCU. I think that he pretty much gets what he asks for in regard to the program. Unless he is burned out, I don't see why he would leave.

No fan base. I believe they are averaging 35,000 at home.

No thanks. Houston is a commuter school. They do not fit the profile of a Big XII team.

Drop Baylor and Iowa St and have a ten team conference. Get rid of the conference title game.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but easy on the dropping Baylor comments. Believe it or not, there are other sports than football, and Baylor does a pretty good job competing in those sports. At the UT/Baylor game last week, Baylor introduced their National Champion Indoor Track 4x400 relay as well as their Men's Tennis Team that won the BIG XII and competed well in the National Tournament.

You're not scared of Nebraska are you?

When the Big 12 was established, it was all about money just as it is today. No changes in near future for the Big 12. I don't care who is winning or losing at any school.

NO!!!!

I hate conference where you don't play everyone. One team from the South could play Nebraska, KState and KU and another team could have Colorado, Iowa St, and Missouri. It is not a fair system.

Lhornfan, the reason I put Baylor on the list is the same reason I do not think TCU, SMU, or Houston should not be in the conference - Lack of support by the fan base. Last week in Waco there was more Orange in the stands than Green (Yellow). Whose home game was it? The school has spent the money to be competitive, but the fans do not support the program.

Attendence Average
Baylor 36,306 (72.61)
TCU 37,477 (84.49)
Houston 24,641 (77.00)
SMU 21,550 (67.34)

Iowa St supports their team (46,242) but they seem to be only able to compete in wrestling.
