Can someone explain the realignment of districts and will there be major changes to the districts this year. I have heard that 15-3a may be realigned among others. Also will there be teams going up and down in class and why.

It's a safe to say that there will be major changes in some way with the upcoming realignment. There always is in some form. Most every district will see some type of change. Whether that change will be major or not will not be known until the realignment is released. Teams move up and down after every realignment, that's one of the few things we know will definetly happen going into any realignment.

Thanks et-football I kept hearing that there would be teams such as Tatum going to 2a and Celina going to 4a. The 15-3a district is alittle out of balance with Canton (VanZandt Co.) playing in a mostly Smith Co. district. Is it based on the student base. It there a site to find out when realignments are comming.

There is a realignment forum in The Smoak House. Just go down about 4 forums and you will find it.

Realignment happens in February. Every thing is speculative until then. Just b/c a school has a certain attendance, doesn't mean they will be in that classification. Some schools opt to play at a higher classification (Dallas Carter, Laredo ISD, etc)

Tatum moving down to 2A could be a possibility. The current cutoff between 2A and 3A is 389 and Tatum reportedly turned in 394 this time around. Celina turned in 429, that should most definetly put them in 3A.

There are quite a few districts that are a little out of balance from a travel stand point, and there's always going to be. There's just no getting around that. The teams out in West Texas have far worse travel issues than most teams in East Texas, trust me.

Each schools classification depends on it's ADM. SptsEd gave an excellent explanation of how the ADM is figured over on the realignment forum. You can read it here: http://www.smoaky.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=11998

The realignment will be announced on Feb. 2.
