Unlikely. This talk happens every two years around Tatum, but the school manages to stay above the cut-off. Granted, there's not been enough growth in the district as compared to some suburban districts. There are some old, old rivalries (with Elysian Fields, Garrison and such) that would restart, but the game with Carthage might end.

No one will know for a fact where anyone will be until 9 AM on February 2. Anything you hear before that is pure speculation and rumor.

No way Tatum could beat Celina, but Celina will be moving up next year, so.....

Maybe Tatum would domiante 2a, maybe they wouldn't. Last time they played a 2a in a real game ( Alto ) they got beat!

tatum has some big ol' really fast kiddo's in that school. they're always challenging atlanta for track dominance around here. and they have some of the biggest defensive linemen i've seen at the 2A level

He said their enrollment is in the low-380 range.
Celina and Aubry are both 3A waiting to happen.
Just reporting what a guy CLOSE to Austin is hearing.

394 is the number reported so your guy close to Austin is a little off.
Smoaky has a special forum to discuss this. So go to 3A move up or down and see if you can help. This thread is in the UIL realignment forum 05-06

I don't think there is a guarantee of winning a state championship just because a team drops in classification. I think Newton is the only recent team in east Texas that won the big one after dropping, and that was in the second year of realignment.

there is about a 99% sure chance that we will go down going off of what has happened the last couple times realignment happened

No we played San Augustine this year and beat them 49-20 and no starters played the whole second half

From what I saw during the playoffs, I believe Celina would have won state in either division in Class AAA this past season. AAA seemed to be down overall in 2005 from the past few years. Not meaning to bash Tatum, but I don't think they were anywhere close to where Gilmer or Atlanta was the past two seasons when they won AAA championships.

Well Tatum definitely has the backs and defense to go far, but the big question will be their O-line. However moving down to 2a could remedy this problem. Not meaning to bash 2a, but as you move down in class, position by by position players get smaller, and with the backs Tatum has it only takes one hand on a shoulderpad and they are out the gates!

I dont know about all the dominance everyone is speaking of....
how many players is tatum losting to graduation?
because their sub varsity teams were pretty terrible this year...

subvarsity was scrub but the class of 08 (Pollard, Bealll, Blackmon, Arthur) will continue to stay undefeated plus D.Moore is the best athlete in 2a!! 2a player of the year!!

You guys can bash Tatum all you want and I say this as neither a homer or one who roots for them. No school who is in 2A year end and year out wants Tatum or Dangerfield for that matter tooling around in 2A. Regardless of sub-varsity teams, Tatum and Dangerfield will be a force in 2A as long as they are there, in a big way. Two traditional power house 3A schools now in 2A ("head in hands, shakes head") Wow! just Wow!
