I say EF has it excellent Tubas Trombones and Baritones they seem to have a really good chemistry

Hmm, well I dont really know much about EF's low brass.

Tatum has great baritones and pretty good tubas.. but our trombone section is pretty weak right now.
Oh well, there's always room for them to improve, right?

I agree. Their low brass, as wellll as all of the EF band, has improved 200% over the past. Congrats to Mr. Hood and all the members, and esp. to the low brass section!

NB low brass has three people in the region band, and two advancing to area

Tatum low brass is really good. The oldest in the low brass section is a sophmore (and they're not even first chair) The first chair Baratone went to State for an Esemble last year....
UG_Sooner
Union Grove has the best Tuba player in the region.:guitar:

but elysian fields has the loudest

I don't know too much about EF, but NB has quite the low brass section, they'd be hard to beat. their first chair trombone is pretty darn good and they've got a quite few more that play really well.
Goob
me clayton atwood and johnny murphy are the best lowbrass section in all of east texas...noone comes close
blackandgoldbloke
Timpson has the most skilled low brass but most of them play football so most fans don't get to experience this until halftime. Sad i know. I'm willing to donate one of the 14 trumpets though. they are like little crickets that make unwanted sound.

UG has the 1st chair all state Tuba player, and 4 more all region players, and a all region baritone player as well, loud is good, but also obnoxious.
Swiss21
Well, Union Grove has the best tubas in 2A. They have the first chair state player. Their 2nd chair could easily make state this year. Then they have 2 more young guns that are all-region. UG also has all-state baritone player. Trombones is the only weak spot.

There arent many Tuba sections who can compete with the UG Tubas, hands down, we have the best Overall Tuba section around.

I'm gonna throw in QC, cuz while we don't have all that region wonderfullness and stuff, we don't have the fuzziness of NB, I havent heard EF this year. We do have a new freshman that went to are last year and almost went to state. I would also like to apologize to neone from nb for what the drumline did to yall on the 11. we had a really large misunderstanding with our directors.

Woah, buddy don't start that argument lol. Listen if your talking about fuzziness, our woodwind section was having a problem on account of the rain. They couldn't play a note lol. Our lowbrass section includes 2 state tubas 3 state baritones and 3 state trombones. Some of the best state players are in the low brass section. It might have sounded fuzzy because of the rain, and also because you were marching off the field. By the way, don't worry about the drumline, you were marching away from us, there was no way you could have known.

Sry. wasn't tryin to start an argument. Just throwin in my two cents. Yalls woodwinds sounded awesome by the way. The only thing fuzzy was when yalls tubas were marchin straight at us. More just to let u know. maybe drop the volume five percent and itll sound a whole lot better, but yall are awesome. yall and dekalb are the only two military bands i can actually stand to watch.

well the woodwinds are going through some problems because we lost alot of upper classmen. I think your right, we have learned how to play the music but we still are pretty bad about our dynamics. Yeah thanks, but dekalb and new boston are having some upperclassmen issues, its good to hear that though. By the way queen city sounded great like they always do last friday. wink.gif
