What are the best sites for fantasy football? Either free or paid.
NFL.com is the only one I have experience with. It is okay but somewhat limited. It is free and fairly simple. I am thinking of going into a more complicated format next year. What are your suggestions?

yeah yahoo is a lil too much of a delay for me... i just like espn because its way more in depth with the stats than yahoo ... But im going to try out NFL next year because i herd you get alot more for a free league than most sites :rocker:

Looks like I may be on the best free site already. LOL! Going with the live draft next year for sure. The auto draft gives you too many bonehead bye week complications and makes some questionable draft choices even though it is going by the rankings.

We're spoiled in our league. We're on CBS Sportsline, and I have never seen a Fantasy site like it.
We have 14 teams, and our own page on the site with a personalized Web site address. We have previews of each matchup each week, with projects on points scored for each player and lines on which team will win. We have weekly Fantasy columns and stories from the guys at CBS Sportsline, and our commissioner does follow-up stories for the previous games and the upcoming games. We have a midseason report, and constant player updates on the side of our page.
During the game, there is a central gamecenter for each game going on with live updates and CBS's gamecasts are updated. It is about as up-to-date as you can get as the games are going on.
Also during the season, we can win money by having our own pick 'em, scoring the most points each week and having the high-scoring player of the season. We have two divisions (an AFC and NFC) and money goes to the division winners.
It's such an incredible league with so much money thrown around. The cost for a team is $100 plus the option to keep two players from the season before for $25 a player. There is also a $5 fee for every trade and $10 for each free-agent pickup.
It's a lot of money, but the team that wins won't complain. The winning team this year will get a check for a little over $1,400.
... we've also a got a waiting list a mile long for guys who are just waiting for others to drop out (although the never will) and get a spot.

This is the one! I run a 10 team league on Sportsline. It is amazing. We have used it for about 8 years. This year was the first time we had A LITTLE trouble. It was not even that big of a deal. They gave me half off next year. That spells customer service. Good luck getting that at other pay sites. The cost is $139 if I remember correctly. You will not be disappointed. Oh heres a tip. If your friends are like mine, insist they pay before they play. I still dont have one guys money!!! Maybe I should just find better friends. Good Luck.

fleaflicker.com. The season is over but it's great. The leagues are deep but the site isn't very public and their aren't that many experienced players

. Check it out next season.

i prefer a league where you pay. fanball charges about $10 for 2 teams. by paying it keeps all the owners active. i've played many free leagues and you always have owner who stop keeping up with their team.

We use cbssportsline.com it is very nice. We pay 100 each. 12 of us in the league. The team who scores the most points in each week gets 20 bucks. The Champ gets 400 bucks. If you win a playoff game you get your 100 bucks back.

I don't mind paying a little, but I don't want to pay $100 for a team, money is a little too tight around here to do that. It's true that the free sites have lots of dropouts, frequently an owner or two will not even show up after the draft. I play something year-round -- Fantasy Baseball, Football, and sometimes Basketball. I'm usually never serious in the Basketball, just passing time between the end of Football and the beginning of Baseball.
I've played:
Smallworld (not regular fantasy)
Yahoo
Sandbox
Foxsports
CBS
ESPN
HeadtoHead Sports
CBS and Foxsports I think I like the most. FoxSports had trouble with Baseball, but their football was good. But really more than where we play, it is who you play with/against that makes a league fun. The most fun I had playing was when we were actually able to get together a dozen guys and have a draft where everybody is in the same room. Those guys are usually committed because you are face to face, at least for the draft (and the draft is a blast). And everybody knows everybody else, or will.
Just joining an internet league, where you may not particularly know anyone, is not quite as fun, but it is frequently what I do, because finding a dozen guys with the time and dedication to follow through on getting together to draft and to play seriously throughout the year is hard.
This past football season, my son was able to get some of his friends to join in a league, but even at that, the championship is between my son and myself this week, and part of that is because about half way through the season the "friends" found other interests.
I enjoy HTH in football, but prefer Roto in baseball, basically cumulative stats. That's because you have an uneven number of games in a particular week for players, and I just don't care for the HTH in that.
