District 16 tourny is Tues and Wed also.

Also, in District 9-AAA, the new Wakeland High School in Frisco dominated their district, claiming first place in 4 of the 5 divisions (all but mixed). Has anyone seen Wakeland play? I know they were at the Wills Point tournament last week...does anyone know any results from that tournament?

FROM STAFF REPORTS

GLADEWATER — Spring Hill captured both the boys and girls District 15-3A tennis championships, held Tuesday and Thursday at Gladewater High School.

The Panthers captured individual titles in girls' doubles, girls' singles and mixed doubles and used team depth in the boys' division to take the team titles.

The Lady Panthers had 25 1/2 points, followed by Gladewater (15 1/2), White Oak (10 1/2) and Gilmer (2). Sabine and Mineola failed to score.

In the boys division, Spring Hill won with 18 1/2 points. White Oak was second (15 1/2), followed by Gladewater (11 1/2), Gilmer (6), Mineola (1) and scoreless Sabine.

In mixed doubles, Spring Hill's Kacy Aldredge and Chris Lee defeated Gladewater's Mary Lauren Bright and Kel Cates — 6-4, 6-2 — to win the title. Bright and Cates had to win a playback match against teammates Kami Fountain and Aaron Cates (7-6, 6-4) to advance to regionals.

In the girls singles final, Spring Hill's Karlee Stagner beat White Oak's Brittany Stone 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Lady Panther Megan Cameron defeated Gladewater's Allison Chenoweth 6-1, 6-3 for third place.

In girls' doubles Spring Hill's Ashley Collier and Melanie Prince beat teammates Kailey Couser and Sarah Varalli 6-0, 6-1 for the championship. Jordan Black and Tori Huff of Gladewater took third over teammates Cheyene Moore and Aleigh Pittman (6-1, 6-1).

Although Spring Hill didn't qualify any of their boys' singles and doubles for regionals, its team depth captured the team championship.

In singles Chayce Stone of White Oak beat fellow Roughneck Aaron Panell 6-1, 6-2 for the title. Spring Hill's Corey Pleasant defeated teammate Luke Wallis for third.

In boys' doubles, Dakota Bickerdike and Matt Burgin of Gilmer defeated Gladewater's Aaron Abernathy and Cameron Cockerell 6-4, 6-2 in the championship match. Spring Hill racked up another third and fourth with Hayden Burns and Matt Payne beating Jordan Knight and Saylor Knox.

The WP tourny got rained out. They got to about the semis. Wakeland is alright. They don't have anybody that will just blow anybody away. They are average. They are young. Good coach, good facilities. I don't see them getting anybody to Austin.
